<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> Hi. I have a very stupid question hope anyone can help me.
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> I tried to build several armbian releases using the wizard for my FriendlyElec Nano PC R1 board.
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> It always ends succesfully and I proceed burning the ISO on a sdcard but...it never boots.
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> Now my very idiotic question is: do I have to run it on an arm hardware itself? Actually I am using a comfortable VM instance x86 but I'm starting thinking that maybe this is intended to be compiled under the same family processor.
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> Is this the case? If yes: do you know what cloud providers include arm VMs to rent on demand? If not: any idea what could be the problem here?
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> I regularly burned the official roms from producer so I am sure I'm writing them correctly (balena etcher), the problem must be in the prerequisites somehow.
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> Thank you
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> thank you @lanefu for your answer. No I don't have the TTL debugger but if this is the way to go I will take it.
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> Anuway the problem looks like the boot is not recognized as placing or not placing the card appear the same in the led blinks when powered on.
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> @Spacedog what are you using to copy the image to the microsd?
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> ahh I see.. etcher
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> @Spacedog one thing I would advise doing is after you have built the image use the raspberry pi imager to put it on the microsd card to run it... I've seen problems with recent versions of etcher
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> This has only started happening recently (last couple of months)
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> And yes you should be able to cross build an image that would work fine

<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Many of us are doing(or at least were... I'm running full native builds mostly now) that all the time
* archetech runs full retard
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> thank you I will try this!
<DC-IRC> <Spacedog> so I can build it on a x86 VM, not related to the proc I'm using armbian builder from?
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> @Spacedog if you follow this guide sure:
