azonenberg changed the topic of ##openfpga to: Open source tools for FPGAs, CPLDs, etc. Silicon RE, bitfile RE, synthesis, place-and-route, and JTAG are all on topic. Channel logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/~h~openfpga
<somlo> I got it for LiteX development, but something's wonky with (at least) the uart tx line (not getting any uart output from the board, once programmed)
<somlo> so I was wondering if the "new revision in 2023" might have different pins here and there, or if I just got unlucky :)
<somlo> hence my search for anyone else who might have the same revision...
<Flea86> smolo: I think folks are waiting to hear your full review first, before buying ;>
<somlo> heh, I didn't realize it's a revised design, wanted what everyone else before me already had :)

<Flea86> smolo: Did you try asking the seller about apparent hardware changes, or to obtain latest schematic? You could configure FPGA for simple UART loopback test, but only if the schematic is correct and there are no other hw hangups, obviously.

<somlo> Flea86: tried that, left a few sentences in a "speech bubble" on the aliexpress "contact seller" u/i, incl. my email; hope to eventually hear back :)
<gurki> cant you shove the uart. uh. somewhere else? ultimately its just uart, thats pretty slow
<gurki> we have done that for boards with fried uart chips when we couldnt be bothered to replace them
<gurki> uart usb chips*
<Flea86> somlo: Good luck with it. Also what gurki said :3
