<so-offish> jevinskie[m]: Do you have your stuff up in a git repo anywhere?
<so-offish> Obviously not the dumped results, but the setup scripts? Learning more about that could be useful. And fun!

<whitequark> it's pretty easy to make binja work in headless mode, it's like one python conditional iirc
<whitequark> I think right above the message it prints? :D

<so-offish> has anyone ever seen a build of nextpnr-ecp5 where you click and nothing happens, and you can't type anything into the console?

<so-offish> Ok I have rebuilt nextpnr on my Ubuntu machine, and still: in the GUI, none of the buttons work. Can't run pack from the menu. Can't run commands in the python console.
<so-offish> https://github.com/YosysHQ/nextpnr/pull/278 I think this is related. I am on LXQt.
<bjonnh[m]> Yes it hangs for me from time to time as well
<bjonnh[m]> but I couldn't find a way to reliably make it crash
<lofty> so-offish: what's your hardware?
<so-offish> lofty: Looks like this thing (a Dell Optiplex), Core i7-9700
<so-offish> lofty: I am RDP'ing into it, but I just checked: It's not design environment related; tried LXQt with SDM, Xfce with LightDM, and now Unity with... whatever godawful thing it has
<so-offish> so I guess it's not the display manager/desktop environment (?)
<so-offish> I even just recompiled. Hm.

<lofty> so-offish: GPU?
<so-offish> lol - Looks like Intel UHD graphics
<so-offish> UHD Graphics 630
<so-offish> I'm on 20.04, wonder if I should go to 22.04...although that shouldn't impact anything
<bjonnh[m]> for me it is a AMD GPU with the latest Fedora
<bjonnh[m]> it breaks on the Intel GPU of the laptop too
<bjonnh[m]> I'll try to get a core dump next time
<so-offish> I'm not getting a core dump though
<so-offish> It's just that none of the buttons work
<so-offish> oddly enough
<bjonnh[m]> no I mean I'll generate a coredump with gdb of the running process
<bjonnh[m]> and see what it is waiting for
<so-offish> oh thank you that would be so great
<so-offish> I compiled with Clang and have been trying to learn some Qt to help out but I am very lost.
<so-offish> lol
