bjonnh: I don't think we talked much about the new programmeable architecture yet. 🤐 However a hobbyist tier small cable based computer is available here https://shop.anabrid.com/products/the-analog-thing a more professional unit with last century level of integration (which is also only programmeable via plugging wires) can be bought configured: https://shop.anabrid.com/collections/analog-paradigm-model-1 . Offering machines for the community is a neat idea. When you consider however that scaling an analog program in size by two means twice as many components running for the same time(!)(no Amdhal's or Gustafson's law) it makes sense to build one big and do time sharing.

Right the company GitHub found a way to say it politetly. "🛈 Why are the anabrid open source codes so old? Most of our recent codes are unfortunately closed-source since our customers do not agree to open source policies."

bjorkintosh: I've only started working there is month but i previously had contact with them. Those projects involved sensitivity analysis of ODEs, optimal control, continous time newton methods. But they were more in the theory crafting state as a ModelOne analog computer did not have the compute and i didn't follow up enough to get them to solder the missing components.

I didn't play with a play with an THAT (the small self contained one which got more expensive due to supply chain stuff) either yet. But i used an analog computer at my uni for a bouncing ball once.
