<waleee>
the master-version had a bug according to another person in the channel
<Guest94>
Alright, thanks!

Speaking of the wiki, it seems that the keyboard layout section either needs to be updated or deleted.
<NickH>
It's not a feature I use so don't really want to touch it myself.

<novakane>
it should be deleted since this is now all documented in the man page imo

<kraem_>
interesting i can't reproduce the crash with plugging in my monitor at home
<kraem_>
got the debug symbols installed - i'll have to try if i got them installed correctly and if river still crashes with the monitor at work tomorrow
<kraem_>
looking at the kanshi logs it crashes after applying my profile docked-work, could kanshi crashing also make river crash? i'm wondering since it's not crashing after applying my docked-home profile just now
<ifreund>
any time river crashes its a bug in river or one of the libraries river uses. No matter what clients do river should never crash

<scorpion2185[m]> "jokeyrhyme so wlar-randr can..." <- I've been using wlr-randr to turn off the screen, yes
<jokeyrhyme[m]>
But I don't know if it's achieving this by turning off the DP connection resulting in the monitor timing out and turning itself off, or if it's using DPMS properly 🤷
<scorpion2185[m]>
does i turn off completely? hard to tell if there is light
<jokeyrhyme[m]>
For me, the backlight is off, and the status LED goes from white to amber
<scorpion2185[m]>
also for me
<scorpion2185[m]>
no need to use wlopm then, thanks

<leon-p> "edrex: stacktile does indeed use..." <- zig 0.10 is erroring out in the same way on levee and stacktile currently - I think it's a zig bug. I'm setting it aside till 0.10.1 is released. the git thing will require some workaround, either on the nix side or by accepting an env var override upstream, but we'll cross when we come to it.
<edrex[m]>
I want a reference to track river-tag-overlay not building on Aarch64. Do you have a way to track issues?

(i marked it as broken in the nix pkg, and want to link an upstream issue so ppl can check if it's fixed on update)
<ifreund>
edrex[m]: zig 0.10.1 was released today by the way
<leon-p>
edrex[m]: I haven't set up an issue tracker for river-tag-overlay, so there isn't anything to link to right now, sorry
<leon-p>
right now that's just an entry in my local todo file

I like that sr.ht seems to favor public inbox as a sort of "person specific notification queue". Web notifications are a fucking mess.
<gbrlsnchs>
edrex[m]: my email inbox is a safe place (as opposed to GitHub's notification page)

i need to figure out my domain email hosting again. Google deleted my free GAFYD account cuz I didn't click on a link in an email by 60 days, and I was sufficiently salty that I didn't recreate it.
<edrex[m]>
Anybody know a coop for simple domain email hosting needs? I'm starting a tech coop in my home town, PDX. Used to run one years ago, but now an opportunity is arising through a hackerspace I'm a member or.
<edrex[m]>
sorry </OT>

Unfortunately spammers followed by FAANG have made email hosting quite hard, but there is mail-in-a-box, simple-nixos-mailserver etc
<gbrlsnchs>
I've been using Fastmail for a while now, can't complain so far, but I'm not an advanced user
