<edrex[m]> Hey, I'm nix packaging a few more river utils (stacktile, levee) but as with arch, it's waiting on Zig 0.10/LLVM 15. Just wanted to drop a link to the PR in case anybody has feedback on that before it's merged:
Szadek has joined #river
<edrex[m]> specifically, wondering if y'all are pro/con maintaining Zig 0.9 in repos.
<edrex[m]> I'm back from my adventures in hyprland

<tleydxdy[m]> hmm multi-monitor is real broken under river/wlroots
<tleydxdy[m]> now I actually have two monitors I can test
<edrex[m]> tleydxdy: broken how? what are you using to configure them? wdisplays is good for a quick test.
<tleydxdy[m]> sometimes river doesn't pickup one or the other display
<tleydxdy[m]> doesn't show up in wlr-randr etc
<edrex[m]> could be kernel level issue. look at dmesg and /sys/class/drm
<tleydxdy[m]> river logs just say [backend/drm/atomic.c:71] connector DP-1: Atomic commit failed: Invalid argument
<tleydxdy[m]> yeah nothing in dmesg
<edrex[m]> what wlroots/river versions?
<edrex[m]> try with another wlroots compositor, see if you can repro
<tleydxdy[m]> yeah master/0.16
<tleydxdy[m]> I'll poke around a bit more
<edrex[m]> <tleydxdy[m]> "yeah nothing in dmesg" <- There were some issues with that log line a few years ago. Look through https://github.com/swaywm/wlroots/search?o=desc&q=%22atomic+commit+failed%22&s=updated&type=issues

<ifreund> tleydxdy[m]: there's a wlroots DRM backend bug that can cause that error message that's just been fixed
<ifreund> should be an 0.16.2 release soon-ish, you could also build the 0.16.x branch though
