<fitrh> Am I correct that to resize per 1 pixel the delta has to be 2?
<fitrh> It seems that delta = 1 causes the resize to only occur on one side

<NickH> hush: it can. Why do you think it can't?
<p00f1> ifreund: i checked out swayosd https://github.com/ErikReider/SwayOSD which reads the value from /sys/class/leds/input4::capslock/brightness which doesn't work on river either which means those values aren't being updated
<p00f1> > which means
<p00f1> also i read the files myself in sway and river
<hush> NickH: I don't know, here on arch/gnome it just doesn't see it (no 'river' option at login). It sees other wayland wm I have tho.
<p00f1> hush: it should, the arch package ships with a desktop session file
<p00f1> /usr/share/wayland-sessions/river.desktop
<hush> holy moly, I just found out I'm on x11!!! :D How's that possible? I'm using garuda gnome and it sure was running on wayland on my laptop and previous other install. I thought gnome was shipping as wayland dm now.
<ifreund> guess that explains it :D
<hush> such horror. I just finished reinstalling all my tools. Wouldn't touch x11 with a 10 yard pole -.-
<leon-p> Snektron: seems like the error happens when the program tries to querry some properties of what appears to be the root window. it's unfortunately common on X to use the root window and its atoms as a key-value-database (despite X already having a real kv-db built in). So this actually sounds like a XWayland issue, since it technically should allow querrying the root window in rootless mode, I think
<leon-p> you can of course also try to run it in rootful mode, might work
<leon-p> ^ finally
<leon-p> writing clients is no longer annoying, a.k.a. I can stop procrastinating on adding scaling support to my things

<Guest33> Hi all, I've noticed that the map-pointer command in riverctl automatically sets the selected window to be floating. Is there a way to configure resize-view to keep the window tiled?

<leon-p> no, that is not possible
<leon-p> resizing windows with the mouse automatically floats them because resizing them in the layout isn't really a thing

<tleydxdy[m]> rather the layout gen would have to have their own command that makes sense for the layout
