Is there a way I can force an app to NOT start in floating mode?
<icp>
*Xwayland app
<n0r>
man riverctl /float-filter-add
<n0r>
I meant float-filter-remove obviously, copied the wrong one.
<icp>
I tried that but still opening new windows in floating mode
<n0r>
Did you use the app-id? It is wayland-apps only afaik. For Xwayland windows you need the initial window title.
<icp>
yes I used the app-id I got from lswt
<icp>
I will try the title pattern

<icp>
Nope, no luck! It's probably the application doing something sketchy

icp: Yeah, we use some basic heuristics to try and float popup-like windows by default
<ifreund>
however they aren't perfect, especially for X11 clients as X11 is pretty loose on how clients can behave

I see
<icp>
I wish I could fully ditch X11 but mouse scroll speed in a couple apps (especially browser) makes me stick to xwayland for a while till we get imwheel (scroll speed settings per app-id) type software in wayland
alebastr_ is now known as alebastr

ifreund: so I was looking at the idle_notify protocl after your issue and I had a bit of time so why not make the wlroots bindings, but I come around an issue I never had
