<Evo2> ifreund: when I was using sway I would have swayidle send a 'swaymsg "output * dpms off"' to blank the screen. I've not been able to find an equivalent way to tell river to blank the screen. Do you have a suggestion?
<Evo2> LOL, just noticed that meks asked the exact same thing... too much stuff getting lost in the "has quit" and "has joined" messages.
<waleee> Evo2: most irc-clients have some filters for those, that you can enable
<waleee> (even the channel logs at libera.irclog.whitequark/river/)
<waleee> Evo2: I think people use eg. wlopm, https://git.sr.ht/~leon_plickat/wlopm
<Evo2> walee: Just grabbed wlopm. Seems to be exactly what I need.

<leon-p> there is something oddly amusing about my most popular projects being like 95% boiler plate Wayland code and about 10 to 20 lines of original logic.
<Evo2> leon-p: I liked it so much I packaged it for Debian :-) https://mentors.debian.net/package/wlopm/
<Evo2> snakedye: I like (an am using) ristate but unfortunately packaging for rust in Debian is beyond me.
<snakedye> :/
<Evo2> I did try though!
<snakedye> I don't think river-status will last long so maybe it's not that big of a loss
<Evo2> I'm just using it to show the focused window title in waybar.

<novakane> so for 'Guest77' who was asking, if they pass by again, I added a max width ratio for the usable area of the screen in rivercarro
<novakane> on the 'width-rato' branch for now, need to use it a bit before merging it, though it should not have any problems
