<freemangordon>
pulsesrc refuses to work with less than 30000 for buffer-time
<freemangordon>
other issues are still not clear
<freemangordon>
but vcm does not work reliably with pulsesrc
<freemangordon>
it is like PA is not inited properly, but I am yet to find why

freemangordon: ok, btw @30000 of buffer, how is latency during a call ? how is the sound (clear or distorded) ?
<arno11>
btw i tried to improve sound with alsasrc (tweaking PA) but sound is still bad compared to twinkle
<arno11>
latency is high, sound is distorded/slow during 10 sec then it is quite ok.
<Wizzup>
on wifi?
<arno11>
both wifi and hsdpa
<arno11>
i tried with diff. samples and methods, tsched on or off, other shm values and still the same
<arno11>
Wizzup: btw i tried to toy a bit with 16KHz gsm calls on n900 but whatever i do i still have slow sound on one way and too fast sound on the other side. i wonder what could be the root cause
<arno11>
(even if i force 16KHz in PA, still the same, weird)
<arno11>
ah, for SIP and alsasrc, i found the trick: using speex-float-1 instead of speex-fixed-2
<arno11>
now alsasrc seems good on n900
<Wizzup>
where did you set this
<arno11>
in daemon.conf
<arno11>
we have speex fixed 2 by default only on n900
<arno11>
(due to my call stuff @4KHz from last year)
<Wizzup>
right.

<arno11>
btw DTMF works with twinkle
<arno11>
and gswave
<arno11>
that's really something we need with sphone imo

<sicelo>
how is daemon.conf affecting alsasrc? (i think daemon.conf is pulse)
<sicelo>
btw, do you know if N900 dtmf works though? if sphone doesn't do it, you should be able to use ofono dbus directly
<sicelo>
something like `busctl call org.ofono /n900_2 org.ofono.VoiceCallManager SendTones s 1` to send "1" using DTMF, during an ongoing call. assuming your modem also calls itself /n900_2
<arno11>
sicelo: ty. for pulse and alsasrc: even if it is alsa stuff, 2 PA threads are created (sink and source)

sicelo: i tried dtmf ofono dbus command, no error but no tone generated :(
