i think i need to ask for a repo and try to build libreworlf for maemo.
<
inky>
there is librewolf repo for debian 11
<
inky>
so it should be possible i guess.
<
inky>
and since it disabled lots of things out of the box it is much much faster than firefox.
<
sixwheeledbeast>
I use lw on desktop but I imagine it would still be very heavy for maemo
<
inky>
on pinephone under pmos lw is much faster than ff.
<
inky>
and on desktop too.
<
sixwheeledbeast>
oh I agree it's so much better than ff, ff has become so bloated.
<
xmn>
Interesting guys, thanks for sharing these findings.
<
inky>
the problem is that lw repo is only for x86_64. we need to build our arm versions.

arm64 is available but not hf

after several tries getting open media player working on the pinephone I called uncle...
<
_Gary>
now using cmus and cmus-remote to issue commands to play music
<
sicelo>
what challenges did you face with open media player? would you be able to open an issue about them on our bugtracker?
<
inky>
> arm64 is available but not hf
<
inky>
i think i looked at it and only x86_64 was available.
<
sixwheeledbeast>
sorry, you mean via the repo.
<
sixwheeledbeast>
deb repo only supports/lists current x64 versions of debian, ubuntu and mint
<
_Gary>
open media play does not see my playlist, empty
<
sixwheeledbeast>
noble isn't in there yet
<
sixwheeledbeast>
_Gary: I would assume it's the tracker hasn't indexed stuff
<
_Gary>
I tried that, no go
<
_Gary>
I also enabled the extras-testing repo and tried upgrading omp but still nothing
<
_Gary>
sicelo: I'll open a bug for omp on the pinephone
<
sicelo>
are you on stable version perhaps? grep for "devel" in /etc/apt/sources.list*
<
sicelo>
it's possible that the tracker stuff is only working well in devel for now. not 100% sure

<
