<arno11> freemangordon: ok i didn't try empathy yet but after reboot it works in conversations, able to receive messages from skype
<arno11> but sending msg crashes conversations
<arno11> *answering msg
<arno11> anyway seems promising
<Wizzup> there's probably a lot of code missing in that release
<arno11> yes probably
<arno11> what is really cool is to be able to connect to sip, ofono, fb, skype, irc at the same time in conversations :)
<Wizzup> :)
<sicelo> hi. what does "The argument will be set by the function" mean in https://docs.gtk.org/glib/method.IOChannel.read_chars.html
<sicelo> for the "buf" parameter
<sicelo> interesting @skype. which skype is this btw?
<arno11> the 'main' plugin from pidgin
<arno11> it works through skypeweb
<sicelo> web.skype.com ?
<arno11> i suppose
<sicelo> awesome
<arno11> yes :) it works perfectly through pidgin btw
<Wizzup> would be good to document how to set it up btw
<arno11> ah yes
<arno11> i can add something about it in the wiki but where iyo ?
uvos has joined #maemo-leste
<uvos> sicelo: the function will write to that memory location
<uvos> its just worded a bit wierd

<Wizzup> btw I was able to connect to the infinitytime pinetime watch
<Wizzup> but not pair, using the d4 at least
<Wizzup> it works ok on my laptop with some effort
<Wizzup> on the d4 I just get auth timed out
<Wizzup> I was just a second too late it seems to pair with the code
<Wizzup> [InfiniTime]# pair E5:AF:D9:66:91:0D
<Wizzup> Request passkey
<Wizzup> Attempting to pair with E5:AF:D9:66:91:0D
<Wizzup> [agent] Enter passkey (number in 0-999999): [CHG] Device E5:AF:D9:66:91:0D ServicesResolved: no
<Wizzup> [bluetooth]# [CHG] Device E5:AF:D9:66:91:0D Connected: no
<Wizzup> [bluetooth]# Request canceled
<Wizzup> Failed to pair: org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationCanceled
<Wizzup> [DEL] Device 42:2E:EB:AA:07:12 42-2E-EB-AA-07-12
<Wizzup> [InfiniTime]# 900111
<Wizzup> (and I was too late, but it was like half a second)

<Wizzup> bluetoothd[14075]: src/adapter.c:connected_callback() hci0 device E5:AF:D9:66:91:0D connected eir_len 21
<Wizzup> bluetoothd[14075]: src/device.c:att_connect_cb() connect to E5:AF:D9:66:91:0D: Function not implemented (38)
<Wizzup> bluetoothd[14075]: src/adapter.c:dev_disconnected() Device E5:AF:D9:66:91:0D disconnected, reason 0
<Wizzup> but sometimes it connects ok
<uvos> hmm wierd
<Wizzup> I never managed to pair yet
<Wizzup> will try again a bit later (have some other things to do)
<Wizzup> It worked ok from my laptop with the same commands though
<Wizzup> but hey, at least it can find it, and connect sometimes :)

<Wizzup> btmon shows the connection getting terminated due to timeouts, hrm
<bencoh> Wizzup: nice! \o/
<bencoh> oh, erm, I only reacted to the lescan reults, not to the timeouts :/
<bencoh> Wizzup: iirc you have to trust device before pairing
<bencoh> (trust device, pair device, connect device)
LjL has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]

<Wizzup> I did trust it, but there is still something going wrong
<Wizzup> I see similar problems on the bionic, but not on my laptop
<bencoh> either our kernel lacks support for some security stuff (assuming you can optout from those, although I doubt it), or the bt firmware itself lacks something ...
<Wizzup> I think there are other problems
<Wizzup> like I said above, I got it to ask for a pin a few times
<Wizzup> but then it stops asking after like 500ms
<Wizzup> and then watch responds by showing the pin code
<Wizzup> (that needs to be typed in on the droid)
<Wizzup> a bit like our random wifi auth timeouts :)
<bencoh> hmm

<Wizzup> I almost considered copying my laptop bt keys after pairing to my laptop :p

<arno11> sicelo: binary states !
<sicelo> Hehe, of what?
<arno11> proximity sensor
<sicelo> yeah, N900. i am using upstream iio-sensor-proxy, but will backport to Leste version once i've cleaned it up
<arno11> really cool
<sicelo> I hope this will also mean we can silence alarm and ringtone by turning N900 face down
<arno11> maybe/probably
<uvos> sicelo: we have a fork of iio-s-p anyhow
<uvos> for sysv compat
<uvos> so no need to backport
<uvos> we can just update the fork
<Wizzup> sicelo: does this work on the d4?
<Wizzup> I didn't think it did, but maybe I should test that again
<Wizzup> (face down I mean)
<uvos> yes it dose
<Wizzup> cool
<uvos> thats not what is being demoed here anyhow
<uvos> its working proximitiy
<Wizzup> right
<sicelo> iirc, the silencing requires *both* accel & proximity sensing ... so you can't just turn device face-down but holding it in the air, for example. it won't be silenced
<Wizzup> right
