<ericonr> dnkl: just saw your comment on wayfire, but feel free to ping over IRC too ;)
<dnkl> ericonr: it felt appropriate to admit it was foot's fault in "public" ;)
<dnkl> ericonr: the shm buffer management code has been changed in significant ways (not just for the two bugs mentioned in the Wayfire issue). Hopefully I haven't introduced any new bugs...
<dnkl> so, what I'm saying is, keep your eyes open :)
<ericonr> dnkl: it seems to be behaving :)
<ericonr> I will leave it running for the afternoon and let you know
<dnkl> ericonr: thanks!
<ericonr> thanks for the fix, too :)
<ericonr> what prompted you to look into the code?
<dnkl> ericonr: a recent change triggered error messaged about a timer FD, and eventually crashed foot. That led me to another shm buffer bug...

<ericonr> dnkl: oh damn
<ericonr> I will be closing the wayfire issue, it's memory usage is basically static now
<ericonr> :D
<dnkl> ericonr: great! New release in a couple of days then :)

<rcf> On the off chance the person who reported weird rendering on big-endian is still here: what is your foot -v? I recently revived my old powerbook and foot seems to work just fine.
<ericonr> rcf: what compositor are you using?
<rcf> Weston, because drm support for 2003 nvidia GPUs is... just a tad bit rotten at this point.
