<davidlt[m]> Interesting. Qualcomm moves quite fast with new Snapdragon (announced <48 hours ago).
<davidlt[m]> There is already "[PATCH 00/10] Add base device tree files for SM8550"
<davidlt[m]> OpenSBI updated
<davidlt[m]> Working on U-Boot side now

<davidlt[m]> quiz time :)
<davidlt[m]> How many folks on the planet Earth would be happy if riscv64 had CONFIG_COMPAT=y set? :)
<davidlt[m]> The only announced core IP is XuanTie C908 (November 3rd, 2022, very new). It does support "RV32 COMPAT mode".
<davidlt[m]> I personally don't see a need for a COMPAT kernel (and syscalls it brings on). I didn't expect anyone implementing in their CPUs the rv32/rv64 dual-mode stuff.
<kalev> maybe keep it disabled for now and see if anyone requests 32 bit support?

<nirik> multilib? ugh, please no.
<davidlt[m]> nirik: I would separate COMPAT from multilib. We built Fedora/RISCV with no multilib and COMPAT stuff. Pure 64-bit stuff.
<davidlt[m]> Note, that RISC-V in general has endless multib combinations :)
<davidlt[m]> nirik: I will be using your board for overnight kernel compile. Just trying to get initial defconfig tuned for a new kernel.
<nirik> cool.
<davidlt[m]> The last major bit to get new F37 disk image assembled.
<davidlt[m]> There will be fun once I can have daily Rawhide builds with new development kernel and automated testing on hardware!
<nirik> yep. :)
<davidlt[m]> nirik: it seems that my new defconfig finally passed and the kernel is cooking
