is still using the unmatched in headless format, You can;t get simple video cards for love of money. they're all gone and the vendors are all desperately pumping out for the margins on the higher end cards 8/
<rwmjones>
yeah, I looked at low end AMD Radeon GPUs and they're ridiculous
<rwmjones>
I don't even understand the reason since they're not useful for crypto mining
<rwmjones>
so my two boards are also headless, but the serial support is rock-solid so I'm not bothered
<BryceII>
mmm not so much,.. I find that the serial looses chars when the system was marginally busy,.. cut&paste tended to loose chars a lot
<BryceII>
then again I'm not being fancy with connecting - screen /dev/ttyUSB1 115200

rwm: eg this is me typeing 'ip a<cr>'
<BryceII>
[root@risc-v ~]# ip ath0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast192.168.1.255 scope global dynamic noprefixroute eth0
<BryceII>
va
<BryceII>
it looses a lot but I rather suspect thats 'screen' loosing
<BryceII>
same with screen /dev/ttyUSB1 115200,cs8,-parenb,-cstopb,-hupcl
<rwmjones>
BryceII: this sometimes happens if you are running two copies of screen by accident
<rwmjones>
eg if you detached from the serial console, and then reconnected (instead of reattaching to the existing instance)
<BryceII>
defeinitly only the one,.. I don;t tihnk thers any getty being spawned on that port but systemd lives to taunt me
<BryceII>
oh,.. hurm,.. I thought java had been compiled up or is the pieces I'm seing just crosscompiles?
<BryceII>
nm, if I could type I'd only be dangerous
<davidlt>
BryceII, java is available
<BryceII>
aye I see it ther as a zero builkd,.. just talking with the oracle java folk in the background here 8)
<davidlt>
BryceII, yes
<davidlt>
BryceII, there is no JIT for OpenJDK yet, but folks in China are probably working on it
* BryceII
looks innocent at this point
<BryceII>
