<bkeys> Does anyone have their hifive unmatched yet?
<bkeys> Mine is out for delivery and I wanted to know if there was any working Fedora images out there
<leah2> i do, but i only booted the freedomsdk images so far
<bkeys> leah2: Link?
<bkeys> And does the unmatched have a UEFI?
<bkeys> What is the boot situation like?
<leah2> it has some uboot and something that looks like extlinux config files
<leah2> i didnt investigate yet
<bkeys> Man, I hate uboot
<bkeys> You always get stuck with custom kernels
<bkeys> leah2: Do you have a link for those Fedora images?
<bkeys> My internet is slow, so if I start the download now hopefully it will be done by the time my board arrives
<jimwilson> boot process is same as unleashed, see https://github.com/carlosedp/riscv-bringup/tree/master/unmatched
<jimwilson> SiFive does not support UEFI, but there is RISC-V UEFI support from others
<jimwilson> no fedora image as yet that I've seen, there is an ubuntu image
<jimwilson> ships with a SiFive OpenEmbedded image, 2021.03.1, https://github.com/sifive/freedom-u-sdk
<bkeys> jimwilson: I saw there was support for the unleashed, but not for the unmatched?
<jimwilson> you mean fedora? yes, there is unleashed image, but I haven't seen an unmatched image yet
<bkeys> Me neither, do you know if the unleashed image would work on the unmatched?
<jimwilson> no, it won't, different DRAM setup in fsbl, no pcie support in unleashed image, etc
<bkeys> Is there anything I can do to help get Fedora on there?
<jimwilson> the unleashed fedora rootfs should work with the SiFive OE u-boot and kernel though
<bkeys> Have you tried that out?
<jimwilson> no I haven't tried that, but the ubuntu and debian folks did that to get started
<jimwilson> I don't know what you can do to help, the fedora RISC-V folks have a unmatched boards, they just haven't built an image yet, maybe they are busy and haven't managed to merge in all of the unmatched patches yet
