<elderK> I've noted that some core packages can show inprt-get listorphans?
<elderK> At least, iirc, signify is a core package that is required?

<SiFuh> Belgacem1958: run updatedb to create a database and use locate to find whatever
<SiFuh> There is a file /etc/updatedb.conf that you can edit to exclude paths
<SiFuh> I exclude /mnt and /media because I know what is on my external drives and I don't know updatedb running for hours through 16TB of data
<SiFuh> know/need

<stenur> /media and /run should be in updatedb.conf
<SiFuh> Yes
<stenur> I opened a bug report.
<SiFuh> /tmp /mnt /mnt2 /mnt3 /var/cache /var/lock /var/run /var/spool /var/tmp /media /admin/motion
<SiFuh> I don't have /run in mine
pedja has joined #crux
<stenur> I put my mounts under /media
<SiFuh> And I don't need mnt2 and mnt3 as they were for something else I was working on two years ago
<SiFuh> Yeah I use /media is pretty much where everything is now
<SiFuh> /dev/sdd1 on /run/media/sifuh/KYASANUR type f2fs
<SiFuh> But that is automount
<cruxbot> [opt.git/3.6]: mupdf: update to 1.19.0
<bountyht> SiFuh: The official Crus iso lacks Dracut, doesn't it?
<bountyht> CRUX*
<bountyht> I was checking on your guide but when reaching the dracut part it is not there heh
<SiFuh> The updated should have it by now
<SiFuh> jaeger: mentioned it a few days/weeks back
<bountyht> Well in any case it should be easy to solve
<SiFuh> Yeah if it isn't in opt, you can find it on... hmm what's the URL
<bountyht> I think it is in contrib
<SiFuh> You get the prebuilt here
<bountyht> I feel like getting the tinyramfs from KISS and building something Frankensteinian.
<SiFuh> dracut#053-1.pkg.tar.xz
<SiFuh> Few uses do, including myself
<SiFuh> users
<SiFuh> https://crux.nu/gitweb/?p=system/iso.git;a=summary
<SiFuh> iso is here
<SiFuh> And here
<SiFuh> Best guy to talk to about the iso is jaeger
<bountyht> Noticed.
<bountyht> There is also a guy on the INternet who builds dracup from the chroot :-)
<bountyht> Argh typoes
<SiFuh> This dracut port is the better in my opinion
<bountyht> FOr any specific reason?
<SiFuh> Yeah, gets rid of that annoying message
<SiFuh> The patch
<bountyht> Well it does not look like the worst deal
<bountyht> I gotta go. See you later

<bountyht> SiFuh: I am back. Being forced to install Windows on somebody else's computer
<bountyht> SiFuh: Paranoid question: Why should I trust your updated iso?
<dbrooke> even though unofficial the updated ISOs are maintained by https://crux.nu/Profiles/MattHoush so they should be as trustworthy as the official ones
<bountyht> That is what I wanted to hear
<bountyht> HOw deep is MattHoush in the development team?
<pedja> he's been around since almost the beginning :)
<bountyht> Good to know :-P
<bountyht> Sounds like what Eric Hamelees is to Slackware
<bountyht> Hmm I think I typoed badly there

<elderK> Guys, is there a better way to find out what dependencies a package has rather than going through its CMakeLists / configure scripts?
<elderK> I wish there was a comprehensive way to say "Yo, gimmie all your dependencies, all of them!"
<elderK> Sure, I might be able to build some program, but that doesn't mean I have the full feature set. And sometimes they don't document their deps on the github or README.
<elderK> :(

<elderK> I guess the only real good way is to have a VM or chroot that has a "bare" Crux install and make my packages in there.
