<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: Which reminds me. How did your tallow turn out?
<remiliascarlet>
The tallow is a success. Looks super sexy in a glass pot, and I did a taste test with lamb, and it was great!
<remiliascarlet>
I think I'll do as you told me, so lard for the pork, and tallow for the ruminant animals.
<remiliascarlet>
And I guess butter for the chicken, but I didn't eat any as of late.
<remiliascarlet>
After my frustrating experience with OpenIndiana, somebody on #freebsd recommended me to give OmniOS a try instead. And goddamn their website is so goddamn slow, it took me half a day to even load the downloads page, and 3 more days to download the USB image.
<remiliascarlet>
And it's not 3 days in 1 download, but in several ones, because it would get so slow, that my connection to the server would keep getting cut off.
<remiliascarlet>
So it already predicts how my experience with that was supposed to be.
<remiliascarlet>
s/that/the OS itself
<remiliascarlet>
Well, so far I'm positively surprised by OmniOS. Their website/webserver might be slow as fuck, but their package manager is actually decently fast.
<remiliascarlet>
Although the amount of software is lacky, but this is going to be a compile machine anyway, so that doesn't really matter.

remiliascarlet: You can use tallow on everything even pork and chicken. Just lard doesn't seem to match beef.
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: Website is fine. Download is around 300kB a second
<remiliascarlet>
SiFuh: Perhaps they thought like "Russia, China, and North Korea are all DDoS'ers, and are all in East Asia, therefore Japan is among the scary hackermen countries, so throttle the crap out of them!".
<SiFuh>
Heh
<remiliascarlet>
They do seem to have a CoC, which means their community must be full of toxic woke left.
<remiliascarlet>
And therefore, their community must suck.
<remiliascarlet>
Wasn't that the Illumos distro that uses Debian's tools?
<remiliascarlet>
I looked into it before, but feels more like GNU/Illumos to me.
<SiFuh>
NexentaStor, Tribblix, v9os, XStreamOS
<remiliascarlet>
I tried Tribblix before, but then I noticed you can't just install a package, you have to install an entire collection of programs and libraries in 1 go just for 1 package, so I removed that one.
<remiliascarlet>
Need Vim? You will also have to install Clang, NodeJS, Go, Rust, GCC, GDB, Mutt, Sendmail, Postfix, nginx, and hundreds of other completely irrelevant packages, just to get Vim.
<SiFuh>
Good thing I don't need VIM
<remiliascarlet>
Was just an example.
<remiliascarlet>
Because in Tribblix, this applies to literally every package.
<SiFuh>
Only Dills use DilOS
<remiliascarlet>
Someone from Europe: "I heard there's a dangerous virus spreading in Japan, are you aware of that?" Me: "No, and seemingly nobody else cares either. But no need to tell me the details, I already know which one you mean, because they've already announced everything last year."
<SiFuh>
Libtardism ;-)
<remiliascarlet>
That was actually one of the more apolitical contacts I have over there.
<remiliascarlet>
She'd turn off her TV the second a politician appears on TV.
<remiliascarlet>
Doesn't matter which one.
<SiFuh>
By the way, a while ago, before you told anyone you were a girl. I was talking to serpente on Telegram. "But the more I talk to Remiliascarlet the more I am sure this is a Japanese girl"
<remiliascarlet>
Ah, so you did notice the hints I dropped!
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: I turned on CNN when I was at the hotel. I lasted about 2 minutes and the wife was laughing because I was pointing out every lie that was being said.
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: Yes but also the way you talk too
<remiliascarlet>
What do you mean by that?
<SiFuh>
I think the biggest give away was when we were talking about dating women and you said you are not interested in that.
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: Men and women talk differently. I can exactly give you any examples but subconsciously you can pick it up.
<SiFuh>
can/can't
<remiliascarlet>
I was actually dropping cryptic hints since the beginning, and made it gradually more obvious over time. Just for the laughs.
<SiFuh>
Haha how about this one. "remiliascarlet can talk underwater with a mouth full of marbles"
<SiFuh>
This was when we were told to shutup in #crux.
<remiliascarlet>
I remember we were told to shut the fuck up, but I believe this was over the whole covid and the injections talk.
<remiliascarlet>
Can't remember you were being told to shut up for saying I can tolk underwater with a mouth full of marbles.
<remiliascarlet>
s/tolk/talk
<SiFuh>
18:41:02 [jue> SiFuh, remiliascarlet: this is the #crux channel, please move your OT talk to some other place, thank you
<remiliascarlet>
Yeah, I remember that because Beerman got offended by what I said against the lethal injections.
<remiliascarlet>
And then you created #crux-social soon after.
<SiFuh>
beerman wasn't talking in #crux. He only came back when I created #crux-social
<remiliascarlet>
"I have to use Fcitx5 to type Japanese, which exists on CRUX, but not on OpenBSD." Wow, that aged quickly! Nowadays I know that OpenBSD just calls it "fcitx" instead of "fcitx5".
<SiFuh>
I use fcitx to type in Thai, Vietnamese and Ching Chong
<remiliascarlet>
Oh yeah, it wasn't Beerman, it was Jue.

Many Western women get it.
<remiliascarlet>
And somehow confused "PMS" with "Pacemaker".
<SiFuh>
I remember in the 90's the media was saying that the reason it isn't common in Asia is because they eat a lot of soy. So naturally there was an explosion in soy sales.
<remiliascarlet>
Sounds like they wanted you guys to be just as compliant to everything.
<SiFuh>
Men don't get this but If someone _snaps_ because of something stupid. I say they have PMS because of two reason. It's a silly mood swing and it is a sissy thing that men should do.
<remiliascarlet>
It's true that Asia consumes a lot more soy products than other continents (at least, all the non-Muslim ones), though.
<SiFuh>
Soy is toxic
<remiliascarlet>
Might have changed these days, considering the growing number of indoor barbeque places here and growing number of soyboys in the west.
<remiliascarlet>
Even around the nearest by train station, there are about 4 yaki niku shops and 3 yaki tori shops, plus 1 McDonald's, but I only dropped that one in as a joke.
<remiliascarlet>
Speaking of which, they built a new McDonald's building just at the other side of the street of where they were before, and right above them there's a dentist clinic.
<SiFuh>
I was picking up her parents at the brother-in-laws place and the cousin-in-law was there. She was next to some fucking lanky, ugly-ass, pasty face Ching Chong man. I said "Who the fuck is that soyboy!" It's the cousin-in-laws boyfriend. HAHAHAHA fucking hell. The other day the niece (The little fat fucking spoiled piece of shit) asks what do you think of that boyfriend?"
<remiliascarlet>
"Came here for a Big Mac set? Hell no, my teeth are bleeding!"
<SiFuh>
The wife says "You can't ask that question" I said "Yes she can" Wife says "No this is a conversation for adults" I said "I care not. He is a fucking soyboy"
<remiliascarlet>
"No this is a conversation for adults" Weren't you an adult aready at the time of the conversation?
<SiFuh>
The cousin is quite attractive. She can get a heaps better man than that.
<SiFuh>
She is saying the niece is too young to be talking about adults
<remiliascarlet>
Seems to be pretty common nowadays. Handsome men with ugly girls, or beautiful women with ugly boys.
<SiFuh>
The niece doesn't like him but because she is a kid, she is not allow to have an opinion on that because it is considered rude. But I don't care because he ain't no adult. He's a soyboy
<remiliascarlet>
Like if cool and beauty can't mix.
<remiliascarlet>
I think over the past 2 decades, the only time I've seen a handsome man and a beautiful woman marrying each other was in anime and manga.
<SiFuh>
I think so too
<SiFuh>
Jun Ji Hyun should have married me!

<SiFuh>
It can help get rid of hangovers. But I find that as long as I drink water throught out the night, I won't get any hangovers
<remiliascarlet>
Also, changing my mind, Illumos sucks. At least, from a publisher point of view.
<remiliascarlet>
Because they made static linking literally impossible.
<SiFuh>
Good, I didn't want to try it
<remiliascarlet>
The only other ones who do that are GNU (semi-impossible) and Apple (made impossible to force you into the Apple Developer Program).
<remiliascarlet>
GNU only makes it impossible by arbitrarily enforcing dlload() on link time, which doesn't happen in musl, and any of the BSD libc's.
<SiFuh>
I am surprised Dr Martin turned up. There was a falling out because they had arranged for him to be on the show two years ago and then they called to cancel because something came up. So he got all upset thinking he was cancelled because they didn't like him. Alex had to call him up and apologize but the guy refused to answer his calls. So Alex Jones apologized to him on air.

Then watch.

<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: You trying to teach me?
<remiliascarlet>
You already explained why you love Alpha so much, but what does SPARC64 do what the others don't?

I already taught her

RISC
<remiliascarlet>

I once understood that Motorola's PPC architecture had very easy to understand Assembly. But I recently got to learn that PPC was kinda odd for having its bits in reversed order compared to all the other architectures. In that everyone else goes from 0 to 31, but PPC went from 31 to 0.
<SiFuh>
I did not know that.
<remiliascarlet>
So just more powerful architectures basically?
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: Stamina, endurance, and power
<SiFuh>
Yes
<remiliascarlet>
I see.
<SiFuh>
PPC was great too
<remiliascarlet>
The biggest problem with PPC I have is that OpenBSD which I installed on a PowerPC G4 can't be put to sleep mode. The `zzz` command doesn't work, lid close to sleep doesn't work, so if it's not running, I have to turn it off.
<remiliascarlet>
And in #openbsd, they too didn't know why.
<SiFuh>
I have had this issue with every OpenBSD machine to date
<remiliascarlet>
PPC is great because it's so easy to find on auction sites.
<SiFuh>
Hybernation and sleep sucks very bad in OpenBSD
<remiliascarlet>
Still trying to get my hands on a MIPS and SPARC computer.
<SiFuh>
MIPS Id like
<SiFuh>
But SPARC64 I want.
<SiFuh>
Not SPARC though
<remiliascarlet>
OpenBSD is actually the best at sleep and hybernation out of the 4 big BSD's.
<SiFuh>
If a sparc64 laptop was re-introduced to the world. I'd sell everything I have and buy it

<SiFuh>
It is more serious than drugs which is also a death penalty
<SiFuh>
I think. I can't prove it. I think human trafficking is so big in Islamic countries that the reason it is a death penalty in Malaysia is because it is the closest 'attached' country to South East Asia. Meaning it becomes the hub for human trafficking.

<remiliascarlet>
I noticed quite a difference between a thick cut of ribeye and a thin cut, bought at the same store, both from Australian cows, both grass fed, and I bough both times at a 20% discount. The thick one was extremistically yummy, but the thin one tastes like pancakes.
<remiliascarlet>
"extremistically" How the fuck did I end up typing that? s/extremistically/extremely
<SiFuh>
I don't know
<SiFuh>
But I laughed and amazingly, it still made sense ;-)
<remiliascarlet>
The other difference of course is that the thin ones are twice as cheap.
<SiFuh>
You maybe have invented a new word
<SiFuh>
Oh you didn't
<SiFuh>
Damn!
<SiFuh>
Twice as cheap or half as cheap :-P?
<remiliascarlet>
Thick is 2000 yen, thin is 1000 yen. But remember, I got 20% discount each time.
<SiFuh>
You mean they charge 40% more and gave you a 20% discount?
<SiFuh>
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
<remiliascarlet>
I said each time, so no 40%.
<SiFuh>
You don't understand my joke?

SiFuh: thanks for sharing. I'm not familiar with the Metallica reference. It wouldn't surprise me if both songs were influenced by earlier country or bluegrass music.
<farkuhar>
As for what's been keeping me busy, I finally got around to digitizing all my old family videos from the original VHS tapes, with the help of obs-studio and avidemux3. It's amazing that a 64GB micro-SD card can store as much video as a bookshelf full of magnetic tapes, and still leave at least 30GB free for additional recordings.
<SiFuh>
farkuhar: Huh? Not familiar with Metallica?
<SiFuh>
farkuhar: Been there watched that. VHS to digital. I am the one who taught my father how to do it
<farkuhar>
My father could have figured it out himself, but right up until his death he was working too many hours to take on any side projects like that. Thankfully he labeled all the tapes clearly enough, so I didn't have too much trouble assigning filenames after the conversion.
<SiFuh>
You use NTSC there right?
<SiFuh>
Never understood why the US always chose the shittiest of all shit. It is like they are insulting you all internationally.
<farkuhar>
Up until a few days ago I was worried I would have to leave the PAL videos unconverted (about half of the entire collection), because the VHS player I was using could only handle NTSC. But then I found an old Sanyo VHS player in the back of a closet, and it was able to play the PAL tapes just fine.
<SiFuh>
Don't tell zorz. It's too hardcore for him. It will destroy his Simply Red and Celine Dion mosic album.

<farkuhar>
Speaking of formats, I didn't intentionally change any of the defaults in obs-studio, and so I got a directory full of Matroska (.mkv) files. These play just fine on most of the devices I tested, but I can imagine it would require new codecs if I share the collection with friends and family who haven't upgraded their machines (esp. the bundled media player that comes with Windows 7).

<zorz>
torvalds : WHAT IS NEW - COMPARED TO MicroEMACS 3.9e? new screen update algorithm, borrowed largely form "vile" by Paul G. Fox <pgf@cayman.com>, uEmacs can now be used on slow (1200 bps) connections because it uses terminal scrolling capabilities
<SiFuh>
zorz: You took the injection. Your stupid ass will be dead before you grow up.
<SiFuh>
I guess we should enjoy your child like nature while it lasts
<zorz>

<zorz>
SiFuh: have you ever thought that maybe windows are buggy on purpose, maybe they want you to install av
<serpente>
i keep saying to the loosers that if they istalled that Avira or Avast shit they used in their WinXP into their new-shit Win10, it would pick every software inside as a virus hahahah, chrome, adobe, discord...
<zorz>
serpente: hahahahahaah
<SiFuh>
zorz: hahahahahaah
<zorz>
SiFuh: Avast!
<zorz>
now and for Linux!
<SiFuh>
Avast ye scallywags, stop lollygagging and get to work!
<zorz>
heyyy I installed ubuntu, do not forget to install avasta
<SiFuh>
Get lost you bilge rat, Ubuntu is for scallywags
<SiFuh>
zorz: 'Avast' means 'stop' by the way.
<zorz>
SiFuh: M-x describe-key-briefly
<zorz>

<SiFuh>
C-x h C-w
<zorz>

<zorz>
:Ppp
<SiFuh>
Shiver me timbers!
<SiFuh>
zorz: I said it before, and I will say it again. My favorite feature in emacs is mass file renaming
<zorz>
oooo fuck yesss
<zorz>
i do not have a bank of files.... never used it
<zorz>
SiFuh: my new favourite feature in vile you know what it is
<SiFuh>
[05 55 24] [zorz> cat /etc/examples/sysctl.conf | vile
<SiFuh>
Dumb
<SiFuh>
I'd rather do emacs /etc/examples/sysctl.conf
<SiFuh>
BAHAHAHAHAHA
<zorz>
pkg_delete -a libsodium
<zorz>
hahahahaha
<SiFuh>
pkg_delete zorz
<zorz>
pkg_delete -a
<SiFuh>

<SiFuh>

<zorz>

<SiFuh>

<SiFuh>
4 hours 'till 10:00.
<SiFuh>
I want to work on the chair and stool to make it fat person proof.
<SiFuh>
serpente: I finished the bedroll today.
<SiFuh>
Yesterday*
<SiFuh>
Might take the BMX for a spin later today
<SiFuh>
Need to pump air into the tyres
<zorz>
SiFuh: i just wrote a script and did it executable in path, wanna see it? https://dpaste.com/7NFXCJGFL.txt the name of the script is xi
<zorz>
hahahaha
<SiFuh>
xi jing\ ping
<zorz>
the reason for the script is that alias does not working all the time
<SiFuh>
Probably because you do the alia wrong
<SiFuh>
Show me the alias
<zorz>
# alias xi='vile '
lavaball has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<zorz>
i remember you telling me for the space
<SiFuh>
Hmmm, looks fine
<SiFuh>
I use " instead ' anyways
<SiFuh>
emacs="emacs -nw "
<SiFuh>
alias updatedb="/usr/libexec/locate.updatedb"
<zorz>
sometimes,,, when i call within another script an alias is not working
<zorz>
now in this situation no problem
<SiFuh>
Ahh it won't work then. Alias' are for the user that logged in.
<SiFuh>
You would need to call the command directly from the script
<zorz>
yes i faced it before
<SiFuh>
Seems pretty dumb to want an alias in a script anyway
<serpente>
send me the bedroll pic later
<SiFuh>
You should call it like this /usr/local/bin/vile
<zorz>
it was with yt-dlp something i do not recall.... and i changed it.
<SiFuh>
serpente: Yes, when I go jungle. I don't have any soil in this fucking shit town house to peg it to.
<zorz>
no no no
<SiFuh>
#!/bin/ksh <-- Also this won't work in Linux
<SiFuh>
Not that it matters
<zorz>
sif is not installed in usr/local... openbsd is one version older and has problem with resize of terminal windows. i compiled it like this ...moment to show you
<serpente>
you can install korn shell in linux, and it works
<SiFuh>
#!/usr/bin/env ksh <-- better but as I said, it won't matter
<SiFuh>
serpente: Yeah, I know. But what if ksh is in /usr/local/bin/ or /bin/ ?
<serpente>
oh sure
<serpente>
thats why i stopped using shbangs, all my scripts did not work when i was playing around with guix distro
<SiFuh>
This one seems to be universal accross all distros and OS's /usr/bin/env
<zorz>
you know instead of having the hole openbsd ports tree, you can get prt-get from crux, make a git directory and install your programs in ~/.local
<serpente>
so i dont put it anymore, i just tend to write the most agnostic as possible
<SiFuh>
Shebang! Hahahaha
<SiFuh>
Awesome name actually
<serpente>
so you could run on any shell
<serpente>
*it*
<SiFuh>
zorz: Good luck. Most of it won't compile.
<SiFuh>
#!/usr/bin/env sh :-)
<serpente>
heheh
<zorz>
[ box ~ ]> ls /home/zorz/.local/bin/ |dpaste
<SiFuh>
There is one issue with the way I do it. You won't get it to run in single user mode in OpenBSD because /usr won't be mounted
<SiFuh>
Unless you do remiliascarlet's way and shove everything in one slice/partition
<zorz>
they speak for shebangs
<zorz>
sfeed is nice
<zorz>
herbe is amazing aswell, with herbe no more libnotify bullshit
<SiFuh>
zorz: Don't fucking care
<zorz>
SiFuh: muttrc set new_mail_command="herbe \ 'New Email' '%n new messages, %u unread.' &"
<SiFuh>
Stop selling us your shit software. We've been around longer than you have
<zorz>
SiFuh: basically i did herbe for you for irssi.... and you hurt my fellings
<zorz>

<zorz>

<SiFuh>
Stop being a sissy. No one cares about feelings in this room
<zorz>
yes correct they come later with pijeon mail :)
<zorz>
HAHAHA
<SiFuh>
It comes later in a 9mm casing ;-)
<zorz>
BLOODY HELL!!!
<SiFuh>
One of the most common threats in Aussie army slang was "A buck twenty"
<SiFuh>
A buck twenty = $1.20 which was the cost of a bullet.
<zorz>
i thought was the cost for a day in prison :)
<SiFuh>
serpente: Remember the WEF covering up Gobekli Tepe video I sent you? Apparently there is another site the WEF buried and planted trees on to hide it. I am waiting for it to come up on the radio so I can find out where it is
<zorz>
guys good having fun with you.... time to take care of my skin :)
<SiFuh>
zorz: You sure you ain't gay?
<zorz>
btw sifuh editor /etc/examples/file is not the same with cat /etc/examples/file | editor... the first uses the file the second uses a copy of the file :)
<zorz>
diff has to be somehow usefull :)
<zorz>
HAHAHA
<SiFuh>
zorz: Pretty sure diff was created to be something.... useful.
<zorz>
joking man
<zorz>
mustarbating....
<SiFuh>
My jungle truck has to be somehow usefull
<SiFuh>
What the fuck does that mean?
<zorz>
malakia has different meanings in greek
<SiFuh>
This guy calls into the radio station and says You remember what God said to Job? He said 'Hey pal' I am paraphrasing. 'I am God and you aint'. And I think that a problem a lot of us are having is what's the difference between us and God? God doesn't think he is God"
<SiFuh>
HAHAHAHA that is awesome
<zorz>
HAHAHAA
<zorz>
speaking of God let me paste what fuckin balaji posted on twitter
<zorz>
evidence in favour of Google's divinity than there is for the divinity of other more traditional gods.
<SiFuh>
It's been around for decades
<zorz>
HAHAHAHHA
<SiFuh>
Surprised you never came accross it before
<serpente>
SiFuh: show me those WEF horror atrocities when you have it
<SiFuh>
Why the fuck do I always put two c's in across
<SiFuh>
serpente: I will for sure. Just waiting for it to come around on the radio.
<zorz>
I DO NOT LIKE YOU, you are an old god,,, lets choose the new god,,, new god is in fashion,,, more trendy!!
<SiFuh>
zorz: A clay pot cannot choose its potter
<zorz>

<zorz>

<serpente>
i dont want atrocities but somehow it seens its all we got
<serpente>
a distopian horrifying reality
<SiFuh>
serpente: The bible explains it all already. But you clowns didn't read it.
<SiFuh>
Did you know the most common phrase in the bible is "Don't be afraid" It is writtem more than 70 times
<zorz>
people stop/reduce smoking and drinking alcohol, goverments need to collect VAT... we will see expensive water, juice, coffee... i do not speak about meat... we will say my precious!!!
<zorz>
anyway i need to sleep... take care of my gay skin as SiFuh says :)
<SiFuh>
zorz: Governments are two-faced liars. Everything is in reverse. So it makes you wonder. Is smoking and drinking really bad for you?
