SiFuh: You know what's odd about InfoWars? That Cloudflare even allows them to remain online. And they are notorious for censoring entire websites off the internet.

Hmm John Bowne uploaded 12 videos today. Maybe preparing for the end of Infowars.

Dear Stallman, if you want me to name a prison after Trump, maybe it'll be fair to name an Altzheimer clinic after Biden, and an African terrorist group after Obama: https://stallman.org/archives/2024-mar-jun.html#2_June_2024_(Urgent:_Name_prison_after_former_president)

I wouldn't paint retards with such a broad brush. There's probably just as much diversity among their beliefs as there is among people at any other intelligence level.
<farkuhar>
ppetrov^s latest trouble with bsdtar and extended attributes reminded me of the time I got a broken bsdtar by upgrading one of the core ports (glibc, probably). Rather than modify only the libarchive Pkgfile and rebuild (as ppetrov^ did for his port), I edited pkgmk to use p7zip for extraction tasks. Thankfully p7zip was not broken also, and it supports nearly as many archive formats as bsdtar does.
<SiFuh>
I use a glass
<farkuhar>
After running the modified pkgmk long enough to get a working libarchive, I reverted to the original version of the script. I don't know if I still have a copy of the pkgmk that uses p7zip, but it shouldn't be too hard to reconstruct, if anyone finds themselves in a similar situation.
<SiFuh>
I dunno about that farkuhar. I think anyone stupid enough to listen and trust politicians, media, and anyone that is funded by big corporations is retarded.
<SiFuh>
I mean there is even a joke "How can you tell a politician is lying?" "His lips are moving"
<SiFuh>
Yet, even though so many people complain about politicians lying and talking shit, they still listen to them? That's fucking retarded.
<SiFuh>
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
<farkuhar>
Listening by itself is not a problem. It's the "listen and trust" combination that's dangerous.
<SiFuh>
Yeah, how many people have fallen for pharmaceutical lies? Political lies? Media lies? Global warming lies?
<SiFuh>
Doesn't take even one brain cell to figure out what is going on. But people still believe it.
<SiFuh>
People seem to not be able to ponder on things or have deep thoughts these days. Very short minded, and extremely short term thinking. Their attention span is also non-existent
<SiFuh>
The other annoying trait is they are all a pack of pussies and cry babies.
<SiFuh>
Petrified over everything, including not socially fitting in.
<SiFuh>
Imagine if Hercules chucked a sissy fit and went into full panic mode because he left his phone at home.
<farkuhar>
Re-reading ppetrov^s description of the bsdtar issue, I am tempted to conclude that he didn't configure pkgmk to run as an unprivileged user with fakeroot (or chose not to). But what if bsdtar tries to restore extended attributes even when running under fakeroot, not just when invoked as real root? It might be worthwhile to investigate this interaction further.
<SiFuh>
Don't know. I have more pressing matters going on in my head.
<farkuhar>
Also, did ppetrov^ set up the work directory on a tmpfs (as recommended to prevent wear and tear on the hard drive)? And if so, what were the mount options for the tmpfs? In order to reproduce his issue, all those details should be matched exactly.
<SiFuh>
farkuhar: It's a bed roll I plan to design. Been thinking in my head about it for days. Trying to design it as simple and light and compact as possible but at the same time being super useful with many purposes.

man, i was watching this series with plane crashes.... boeing had the best plane, but when creating the new model, they knew it was faulty and they said we will create software to balance the plane. something like that
