actually this looks like rts is turned off too early, slightly cutting off transmission of the last byte... I guess you're using whatever bizarre trick libmodbus is doing to try to time it

Hi, this is with using kernel rts (uart2 with rts support).

the ground line is soft and tight to rs485, not bb, hence channel 2 only sees RTS signal change, not steady state. Channel 1 and 2 ground are common on this scope.

(so I cannot properly use the beagle ground for channel 2). But RTS signal whenmeasured ont BB is perfectly normal 1/0 output. Indeed it is times just right on release.

for most of the systems i use extlinux.conf i just have u-boot-menu installed and it just regenerates the file on kernel/initrd package updates

you can copy it to anywhere and then manually tweak your u-boot environment rules if you need to switch to the old copy for some reason
