<Armbian-Discord> <ManoftheSea> Armv7?
<Armbian-Discord> <ManoftheSea> The pro is v8, right? So arm64?
<WoC> seems hard to find a armhf distro
<WoC> Maybe I have to go NetBSD
<WoC> The device is Arm64, yes. but it only has 4 GB ram and I have to use armhf for steam
<WoC> so 64 bit is actually slower
<WoC> although I think it would be hard to get steam working in NetBSD...
<WoC> trying to convert a arm64 distro to armhf, but seems futile
<WoC> fails as I haven´t found how to make apt overwite files
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> agree with @rpardini, no point messing with 5.15 when 5.19 is more or less ready
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> WoC yeah, we put the userspace according to the SoC arch, we don't do any RPi stuff with 32-bit userlands on 64-bit hardware
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> I don't quite understand what you'd gain by not going 64-bit on an RK3399, if you limit it to 32-bit you might as well get a $99 RK3288 chromebook with 4 big cores
<WoC> the device only has 4 gb ram, 32 bit would be faster and you can still use all ram
<WoC> why 64 bit when the device only has 4 gb ram?
<WoC> in 32 bit, the cache would be more efficient
<WoC> was hoping to get the box86 running, which requires armhf, and steam on that
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> ...

<WoC> afaik there is no other way to get steam on arm
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrMPvGtxzC4
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> I thought Box86 ran fine on aarch64
<WoC> can´t build it on arm64
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> @IgorPec don't we have packages for that now
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> nicod does all this stuff on an Odroid N2
<WoC> i just wait then, thanks

<Nardol> Thanks a lot for all the answers :) so I will patient until 5.19 on current to stay on a stable environment, as playing with Odroid N2+ storage is something I prefer to keep for the moment I won't have other choice ;)

<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> If WoC is still reading this. You can install box86 on arm64. But it needs you to add the armhf architecture. This is a problem because it creates a dependecy hell. I wrote armbian-gaming to install it while fixing the problems. But this can always break when doing an update. Most of the times it can be fixed with aptitude. Just be careful you take the correct choice of installing the needed packages. I use it on my N2+
<Armbian-Discord> desktop with Armbian Sid 5.19. I do not advice to use this image. But it does have a bit better performance and newer packages. But Jammy 5.10 is more stable. Read armbian-gaming.sh to know what needs to happen to install box86 and wine.

<Mangix> oh hillarious: https://github.com/armbian/build/commit/7c5d07d3044dce9fb368d70184919bbb4f654aba disables it for some unexplained reason

<IgorPec> mangix: unrelated to the error you are seeing. kernel is a loooot more complicated
<Mangix> ...
