<Shiranui> Is apt.armbian.com under maintaining? HTTP 500 Internal error - code should not reach this point
<[TheBug]>
Shiranui: can you confirm if this is resolved?
<[TheBug]>
@Shiranui can you check if this is now working -- was some odd issue with redirection, now should be resolved
<ArmbianHelper>
^ Error retrieving title. Check the log for more details.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> ...?
<[TheBug]>
something now odd cause it works fine for me when I curl or wget file like that
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> BridgeBot has bug?
<[TheBug]>
try and apt-get update first please
<[TheBug]>
then try once more
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> Err:1 http://apt.armbian.com/ focal InRelease 500 Internal Server Error [IP: 130.185.239.78 80] The message is sent from apt-get
<ArmbianHelper>
^ Error retrieving title. Check the log for more details.
<[TheBug]>
nope I have replicated it again seems to be region based
<[TheBug]>
where are you located?
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> Taiwan
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> ISP Provider is ChungHwa Telecom DNS Provider is OpenDNS
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> I tested apt.armbian.com with curl from Azure/Japan East, it receives the error 500 too.
<[TheBug]>
@Shiranui can you now try again, I want to know if removing some mirrors has helped for you, still trying to understand the failure
<[TheBug]>
I think there is config error for some mirror in the geo area you are being directed to, I have disabled some mirror and where I was seeing 500 it is now working
<[TheBug]>
if you can confirm then I can start to try and find more the failure
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> Oh yes. It seems a problem was produced by the failure mirror.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> The problem has been resolved, thank you.
<[TheBug]>
okay thank you
<[TheBug]>
go make your install
<[TheBug]>
I will have to do some more test in a few minutes to figure actual issue
<[TheBug]>
but I will wait for you to install
<Armbian-Discord>
<Shiranui> OK. My packages installed, thanks.
<[TheBug]>
NP, this should now be fixed also. Thanks for letting us know.

hey :)
<devyl>
i are there any known bugs on current armbian for Odroid C2 that make a installation unbootable with a simple (second, after reboot after the first) "apt upgrade"? i have this isse with the bullseye server image and jammy xfce
<Herc>
devyl, I need a fresh img for my c2 anyhow, lemme install that.. (can take a while...)
<devyl>
thanx for trying... i have done nothing special till it happend again with jammy. i uninstalled codium, gnome-shell... done a apt upgrade (like i mentiond the second one, the first was just after setup the user yesterday) ... sudo reboot and boom.
<devyl>
this happed with the bullseye image also (i installed xfce via apt install... apt upgrade, boom)

hmm, booted ok, didnt set up kbd layout correctly :( , apt update gave some WARNings like "sig verify failed"..file get failed: "http://cli.git.../NO_PUBKEY..."
<Herc>
(dist-)upgrading now...
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> which image exactly?
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> and do anyone have serial console we can check
<Herc>
from the oc2 download page
<Herc>
kbd layout fixed using armbian-config, reboot, everything ok
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> that's not a critical issue - there is a fix on the forum
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> key from one 3rd party repo expired
<Herc>
kk, just reporting
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> np.its fixed at build time, but we don't patch this to live images yet
<devyl>
hm... so the only solution for me is to check via uart whats the problem, hm? x.x
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> currently, yes
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> i would need to do the same
<devyl>
yeah i know... i just hoped not to pack it out and there is a know bug or something ^^"
<devyl>
(i just haven't the time to thinker around atm... so maybe i will check at the weekend...)
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> if we had 100 people to watch over this 🙂
<devyl>
;) yeah i know i know...
<Herc>
igor has even less time!
<Herc>
well, I didnt uninstll anything, just installed x11vnc - no issues here
<Herc>
emmc or SD always worked the same here (but I lost my emmc somewhere :( )
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> odroid c2 is known to have issues with network and sd cards. well, not just c2, amlogics
<devyl>
since i used the bullseye image and installed just xfce (and openbox, lxde,...) without uninstalling something i think it doesn't really matter... maybe there is a problem if some kernel modules are replaced...?
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> desktop should not have affect on any of low level problems

ah... i remeber i installed plymouth on bullseye! sorry... i just forgotten it; b/c after installing xfce lightdm wasn't show up and the log says it needs plymoutth
<devyl>
and after that bullseye wasnt bootable anymore. so i tryed jammy
<devyl>
+m ^^"
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> there is one distribution, not two
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> armbian provides debian or ubuntu outlook
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> if one is broken, both are

<IgorPec> i am looking where is my c2 ...
<Herc>
I just grabbed my 2nd oc2 (which had no ethernet /w my old image) - voila, /w theis new img ethernet now works! :)
<Herc>
this*
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> so you are saying update survives on one C2, but breaks on another?
<Herc>
not me, everyting is fine, the ethernet issue on (only) one of my C2s was on an older armbian img some year(s) ago
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> ok
<devyl>
the difference seems to be that i'm using emmc and herc sd
<Herc>
weird tiny HW differences (although bought at the same time)
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> SD cards are problematic and there is little we can do about
<Herc>
SDs did/do work well here
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> my C2 update without issues
<devyl>
really strange ô.o
<devyl>
but the frist upgrade was in both installations no problem for me too...
<devyl>
s/frist/first (i should type slower.... maybe... xD)
<ArmbianHelper>
devyl meant to say: but the first (i should type slower.... maybe... xD) upgrade was in both installations no problem for me too...
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> i tested both kernels, CURRENT and EDGE, both works
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> but C2 is good C2 🙂

<Az-eddine> Hi
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> I'm trying to install armbian CLI on PINE64+ without success
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> nothing happens, I'm not able to see its ip using ipconfig
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> do you have any idea?

<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> to which post?
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> does it says "locked"
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> @Az-eddine if you want some actual feeedback here you will have to give a lot more details than you have given so far -- "Nothing happens" is not descript of what is actually happening, you need to provide details. Are there any LEDs, do they light up? Does HDMI show ANYTHING? Doe uboot show then fail to load linux? Does it try to load linux and fail? Have you hooked up USB TTL serial to UART and checked serial
<Armbian-Discord>
console for issue? What image are you trying to us? What media have you brunt it to? How did you burn it? etc etc etc all this is important if you want actually someone respond to you.

<Az-eddine> Hi,
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> i powered the board using usb (power led On) I inserted the microSD with linux server, after 10 minutes i tried to connect lan cable (because i do not have a display) and checked with ipconfig if the board ip is recognized (is not recognized)... i checked also with putty (using the same usb that is powering the board) if something is present, i do not have any feedback from the board....
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> the usb is also a data cable usb.

<Az-eddine> You have reached the maximum number of posts you can make per day.
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> How did you write the SDcard? Which image did you write? Also, it is very difficult to support you if you do not either have an HDMI display to see if it is booting or a USB TTL serial adapter to see serial console. These will be pretty much required to determine the answer to your question. It is possible it is sitting waiting on you to set it up or some issue with it booting or some driver issue, etc, there is
<Armbian-Discord>
very many options of issues, so you are at the point where you need to find a way to borrow a display or hook up serial adapter to see what is happening for you. Additionally there are archived older images, you can test writing older images and see if something is different... but without some way to see whats happening there hard to tell you any problem to fix
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> I used balenaEtcher to write the SDcard
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> the baudrate of serial console please?
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> 115200?
<Armbian-Discord>
<TheBug> it will sometimes vary based on board so I would have to look it up, but generally, yes
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> "You have reached the maximum number of posts you can make per day" so this is the problem. You can unluck that with a donation or if you wait
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> anyway maintainer need to check
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> ok thanks
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> i don't have this hardware, can't verify if the problem is at our side or somewhere else.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Az-eddine> thanks
