kanavin: The groups are fixed. The config module for this is coming together. Different names for the render group depending on distro and version. More so than most.

sstate reuse is brittle. One innocent looking change at the wrong place, and you'll break it. That happened to rust-native (which is a heavy item to build, taking 15 minutes) which became target dependent without any warnings, but I noticed and fixed it.

I had put ABIEXTENSION getter in the wrong place there.

moved it to where only rust-cross has it, but not rust-native.

Sadly the upstream Python folks think wheels are all we need and build in a container. So distutils, which has worked well for our use case does not fit theirs.
