<leviathan> I've noticed that the rule-add functionality doesn't seem to work for certain applications, such as Deadbeef, Steam, etc. I've added tags rules for these programs, but they don't display in the specified tags as expected. Instead, they always end up appearing in a different tag.
<leviathan> I think this might be a bug. I set the tags for Deadbeef to 5, but it always appears in 3. I set the tags for Steam to 6, but it consistently appears in both 2 and 3.
<leviathan> I added logging code within the view, and I found that server.config.rules.tags.match(view) outputs the correct tag. However, the final location is incorrect.
<NickH> Tags are bit maps. Are you sure you are setting correctly?
<NickH> Seems not.

<leviathan> Oh my mistake, I mistakenly thought it was about tag numbers. Well, this probably isn't a bug then.
<NickH> For tag 6 only you'd want 32.
<leviathan> I tried again, and there were no issues. Thank you very much for your assistance.

<ifreund> The latest round of hyprland drama prompted me to finally add a CoC
<dnkl> sounds like a good idea, I should probably too
<ifreund> dnkl: I just took this and removed the concrete enforcement guidelines fwiw https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct/
<dnkl> thanks for the link!
<ifreund> no problem :)
<novakane> can't hurt to have this, glad we're drama free for now though
<ifreund> indeed, I have a feeling that the mere existence of a CoC may cause some troublemakers to steer clear of the project
<LarstiQ> yeah
<ifreund> it's also just good to explicitly state that we welcome people regardless of race/gender identity/sexual orientation/religion/etc.
<LarstiQ> ifreund: re concrete enforcement guidelines. I'm not an expert bug I guess river is small enough atm, but in theory those also serve to let everyone know what to expect and not let things slip (looking at some instances of lack of enforcement elsewhere)
<NickH> From lurking on their Discord I can tell you that the CoC at hyprland is literally a joke to the people in that community
<ifreund> LarstiQ: my goal with leaving enforcement details underspecified to avoid any counter-productive arguments over how long a ban should be or whether or not some case should have been just a warning based on the enforcement guidelines
<ifreund> If you or anyone else see things "being let slip" I think the CoC makes it clear that the solution is to email me
<ifreund> if I can't keep up with CoC reports that means the community has grown to the point that we need more moderators and I'll do my best to deal with that
<ifreund> so far we haven't had any issues though that I'm aware of
<LarstiQ> aye, makes sense
<LarstiQ> as you said, I trust you to evolve this when needed

<leon-p> +1 for the CoC !
<leon-p> as for moderation, I can remember only two instances where we had to deal with someone, so I think we're fine for now

<dagle> Is this the topic in every irc channel today?
<ifreund> I guess so?
<ifreund> though definitely less than a quarter of the ones I'm in

<NickH> Uset the "focus-output" command. Eg "Super Period" binding in the example config
catman has quit [Quit: WeeChat 4.3.0-dev]
<NickH> Oops sorry. "send-to-output" command. Eg "Super+Shift Period" in the example config
<NickH> And you'll likely may want to use the -current-tags option
<ifreund> (they left a while ago unfortunately... with luck they'll read the logs or the docs)
