Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to build River with wlroots 0.17 ?
<ifreund>
Guest7: nope, wlroots 0.17 has not been released yet
<ifreund>
and river tracks the latest wlroots release
<Guest7>
oh
<Guest7>
that's what the version is if you build from wlroots-git AUR
<Guest7>
i guess it's way ahead then
<Guest7>
i was trying to build river-git
<Guest7>
oh well
<Guest7>
thanks for clearing it up for me

<leon-p>
there are really interesting new protocols emergin right now:
<leon-p>
system-bell-v1 might be fun, we probably want to let the user configure a shell command that is spawned on bell invocation and probably mark the view as urgent if it is not focused
<leon-p>
dialog-v1 maybe allows us to auto-float certain special views, which could be a neat UX improvement
<leon-p>
wm-gestures-1 also sounds fun, although implementing it would probably either be a configuration mess or strongly opinionated
<leon-p>
all of these tiny little feature protocols get us closer to river being the base for a well-featured desktop
<switchy>
exciting!
<novakane>
yeah lots of activities in wayland protocols, that's cool
<novakane>
don't know why there is so much new protocol right now but that's nice to see
<ifreund>
novakane: it's cause people are actually meeting in video calls and talking about things, it's great :)
<novakane>
oh nice, that's great to hear! Seems like it improved Wayland development
