<fitrh_>
leon-p: with directional focus-view, I can't navigate between views on stacktile full layout using up|down

is that the expected behavior?
<fitrh_>
I'm still using the old version of stacktile

I use old stacktile too, but I'm not familiar with "full layout".
<NickH>
Does it just make the views fullscreen?
<NickH>
If so then I wouldn't expect the direction focus to do anything since there are no views above, below, left or right.

NickH: Yes, it is like monocle in dwm
<NickH>
Well, I think that exaplains the behaviour you're seeing.

is focus-view a new addition to river?
<NickH>
Yes, very new.
<NickH>
Sorry, focus view by direction is very new.

<leon-p>
yes, directional view focusing is based entirely on the difference vector between the center of views. Two views with the same center position will have a (0,0) difference vector and the direction of that is undefined
<leon-p>
If you still want to use full layouts, you can bind the traditional next/previous view focusing as well. I use H,J,K,L for spatial direction and N,P for logical direction

is this, indeed, similar to dwm's monocle?
<leon-p>
angry_vincent: yes. there was a change in river some time ago and now stack ordering equals reverse focus ordering, making a full layout a lot more natural
<angry_vincent>
this is great :)

daurnimator: why is the archlinux package compiled with xwayland?
<p00f1>
when something outright doesn't work i know it needs to be configured for wayland
<p00f1>
as opposed to just running in xwayland
<ifreund>
I think enabling xwayland by default is probably the right move for distro packaging
<ifreund>
at least for the next 5-10 years

whenever I am close to finally implementing drawing tablet support, I always remember that krita doesn't work on wayland because they for whatever reason do tablet drivers inside the application and then I loose all motivation to work on that...
<ifreund>
leon-p: I do plan to do it myself before 0.3.0, I've even got hardware to test now but have been swamped with bachelor's thesis shit
