<NickH>
Regarding kanshi, is there a definitive way to get the output description? Eg "Foo Corp. 0xDEADBEEF"? For one of my displays, kanshi will not match the string I see in wdisplays and sway.

now that i'm not fighting firefox anymore...

NickH: might be that there's a difference in how wlroots and kanshi build the description
<tiosgz>
if the output has all (make, model, serial) it's the same, but with missing serial, kanshi leaves a trailing space which wlroots avoids
<tiosgz>
(plus wlroots always adds the " (connector)" part)
<tiosgz>
the thing from wlroots is what you usually see, the one from kanshi is what you need in your config ofc

Hi, does anyone know how to get rivertile to do regular master/stack layout
<twinkie101>
while i can get it to look like master/stack it doesn't seem to behave like the one in Awesomewm or Hyprland for example
<twinkie101>
it keeps moving the tile that i've just created clockwise as opposed to keeping it in place
<novakane>
twinkie101: you need to set the attach-mode option to top
<RZ_MJ[m]>
When you open a new window it becomes either the new main window (attach-mode top) or the last stack window (attach-mode bottom).
<RZ_MJ[m]>
Not sure what you mean by "keeps moving clockwise"/"keeping it in place" though.
<twinkie101>
oh cool thanks!
<twinkie101>
i meant it creates new tiles in the "main-location"
