Hello, is it possible with river to connect a projector (hdmi) with screen mirroring?
<
andrea>
I ask because I do not have the hardware to try it
<
NickH>
Yes, can use multiple displays.
<
NickH>
Need to use some other program to configure them to your liking.
<
NickH>
wdisplays is good for "one off" configs.
<
NickH>
kanshi is good for switching between known configurations
<
ifreund>
andrea: We don't have any support for screen mirroring yet, but yes using it as a second monitor works fine
<
NickH>
Ohh, I stand corrected.
<
andrea>
Oh ok, thank you ifreund
<
andrea>
NickH: thank you anyway
<
ifreund>
you might then consider software like pdfpc to get two in-sync windows for a presentation or whatever
<
ifreund>
pdfpc also lets you see the next slide, notes, etc on the presenter window
<
NickH>
ifreund: by mirroring you mean L<->R? Because I interpreted the question to mean same content on two screens/
<
ifreund>
By mirroring I mean same content on two screens
<
ifreund>
flipping or otherwise transforming the content on a screen is supported already
<
andrea>
definitely will try pdfpc, thanks
<
ifreund>
no problem!
<
NickH>
Ok. I accidentally got that by using a usb-c dongle with two outputs.
<
ifreund>
hah, nice
<
ifreund>
I'm pretty river/wlroots just sees them as a single output on the hardware level then
<
NickH>
Was with two identical displays, so that makes sense.

note that seeing the cursor on multiple outputs at once does not mean it has been mirrored, river just allows outputs to overlap
<
ifreund>
(and shouldn't)
