<ino> hi novakane ! how are you? its been a while since i came here :) also the root thing is, I am thinking about re-structuring how i want to do things, like as a root i want to run gui apps but safely, (like flatpak, maybe?) i dont know if it sounds stupid, but its just my idea!

<novakane> ino: I'm fine. Running thing as root is kinda the opposite of safely

* ecocode_ is slightly getting in love with river
<ecocode_> I tried sway / Qtile(wayland) / river for the last 2 days. now decided to keep river for a week as a test
<ecocode_> I had to compile waybar and river from source to get it working best
<ecocode_> also, as I am an Emacs user, I changed a lot of the keybindings. still not finished the work on his

<ecocode_> Hi, is it possible to remove the titlebars from the windows ?
leon-p has joined #river
<leon-p> talismanick: out of curiosity, do you use multiple emacs frames or only a single one?
<leon-p> also wondering if maybe we could re-design the keybind implementation to allow key sequences, which may be something emacs users would like

<ecocode_> @talismanick I launch an emacs daemon and connect to it from several terminal emacsclients
<ecocode_> key sequences are great. I think you can achieve something similar with custom modes in river, but I did not try yet

<ecocode_> what is the usual way to set a wallpaper ? I used variety, but that doesn't seem to work in river
<elshize> encode_: you can use swaybg. here's a bunch of software recommendation for use with river https://github.com/ifreund/river/wiki/Recommended-Software
<elshize> ecocode_: ^ (sorry, mistyped your name, oops)
<ecocode_> :)
<ecocode_> swaybg doesn't allow to span an image over multiple monitors(screens)... but I guess it is the best available
<ecocode_> @elshize thank you for the info
<elshize> ecocode_: never tried to span one image over multiple displays, maybe someone else has some hacks for that. I mean I know one, open it in gimp and cut in half, set each half speparately :D
<elshize> frankly, I just use gray background. I get very distracted with flashy wallpapers ;)
