warpme: I vaguely remember some CEC clock shenanigans on 3399/356x (?) a while back, involving dodgy assumptions around the default mux and the external CLK_32K input, might be that 3588 is in the same boat

diederik: I have now pushed an updated ffmpeg branch, should be close to what I intend to send out, have moved half of the commits to the -dev branch, they will not be part of initial send out
<Kwiboo>
now just some final runtime testing and update of commit/cover letter before it should hit ffmpeg-devel list :-)
<dsimic>
good luck! :)
<diederik>
I have just ran my test script on the PineTab2; Q64-B and Rock64 are up next
<linkmauve>
Oh wow is that finally it? V4L2 stateless decoding support in mainline ffmpeg? :)
<diederik>
Kwiboo: is it much different from the code from a few days ago? (IOW: is my current test run still useful?)
<Kwiboo>
diederik: main diff should just be code style, code comments and error messages, also fixed some configure/build issues when using old kernel headers
<Kwiboo>
dsimic: thanks!
<diederik>
ok, cool. I'll continue with my current script/ffmeg/mpv build then
<Kwiboo>
linkmauve: I hope so :-), have been re-working our libreelec out-of-tree patches last few days/weeks so that they can be sent upstream
<linkmauve>
Thank you so much. <3
<Kwiboo>
the re-worked version have support for multiple pending decode requests so it can work efficiently with hevc decoder on raspberry pi 4+5
<urja>
ooh, i wanted to ask, are there any patches (or minimum mainline version) i should be running for H.264 decoding with hantro on RK3288?
<urja>
(I did find some patch for HEVC on RK3288, but didnt test yet *eyes*)
<urja>
In my test some time ago (with mainline 6.6.something) it technically "worked" but many H.264 files played in a glitchy fashion, so i disabled hwdec in mpv settings again..
<diederik>
I have that patch set in my kernel, but so far I haven't been able to hw accel hevc files yet
<urja>
bookmarked that (for when i do kernel stuff, which happens to be soon...), but yeah none of that should have an effect on H.264, right?
<diederik>
But I just realized I've been testing it with the same file (and sometimes bbb 1080p converted to hevc) ... so I should probably search for more test files
