<Kwiboo> naoki: do you really need a rock-pi-e v3 DT? for u-boot you can just include the upstream dts in a u-boot downstream dts, see my mail and https://source.denx.de/u-boot/u-boot/-/blob/master/arch/arm/dts/rk3399-nanopi-m4-2gb.dts for example

<kilobyte_ch> Anyone here went down the rabbit hole to use rockchip_read_distro_dtb in the Rockchip U-Boot? I need to load my DTB early in U-Boot, as I need to use compatible simple-panel-dsi for my display. This compatible is just used by Rockchip U-Boot to initialize display.
<kilobyte_ch> Additionaly, I use RAUC with A/B partitions and have my kernel/DTB on these rootfs A/B partitions.
<kilobyte_ch> Thus I somehow need to load the DTB from the correct partition. But during rockchip_read_distro_dtb the U-Boot env isn't initialized yet.
<naoki> Kwiboo: oh I didn't know this way...
<naoki> oh I didn't read last part of your reply... thanks & sorry...

<dsimic> Kwiboo: oh, now I see what you meant with arch/arm/dts/rk3399-nanopi-m4-2gb.dts... that's neat
<dsimic> the kernel patches become redundant that way

<dsimic> naoki: as a suggestion, perhaps it would be good to send a note to linux-rockchip that your patch series is actually no longer needed
<naoki> dsimic: writing now...
<dsimic> oh, sorry, I didn't know
<naoki> thanks anyway :)

<naoki> unfortunately I missed a chance to reorder mmc aliases ;)
<dsimic> it's too late for that
<naoki> btw spi flash patch for ROCK 5A was accepted in linux,
<dsimic> lowering the frequency?
<naoki> yes and no, rock 5a patch add new spi node
<dsimic> ah, yes, I remember now
<naoki> I need to make a patch which fixes SPI/eMMC pinctrl conflict issue
<naoki> in u-boot
<naoki> getting boot media was easy, but...
