<noocsharp>
have you tried the oberon vm?
<testuser[m]>
Hi
<noocsharp>
o/
<travankor>
plan9 conviently borrowed a lot of ideas from oberon
<testuser[m]>
linux00: works just fine
<testuser[m]>
rebuild mpv to a new commit maybe

Unless you are paid to read papers and implement cutting edge stuff, your time is better spent leetcoding that has a direct short term impact on maximizing your TC.

test
<acheam>
epic
<noocsharp>
??
<acheam>
was just testing something
<acheam>
switched from chat.sr.ht to my own znc bouncer
<noocsharp>
oh no, i might finally have to learn lisp
<noocsharp>
lilypond uses it as an extension language
<noocsharp>
scheme that is
<testuser[m]>
noocsharp: is nkiss permanently abandoned?
<noocsharp>
it's unlikely that i'll work on it again, but iirc it's pretty close to being usable
<noocsharp>
feel free to pick it up if you want
<tleydxdy[m]>
lisp good
<testuser[m]>
(no)
<acheam>
both lilypond and lisp are very cool
<acheam>
besides lilypond being gnu
<acheam>
this is also gross
<acheam>
> LilyPond is mostly written in C++ and uses Scheme (interpreted by GNU Guile) as its extension language, allowing for user customization.[12] It has a relatively large codebase; as of March 10, 2017, the source includes over 600,000 lines of C++, 140,000 lines of Scheme, and 120,000 lines of Python code.[13]
<phoebos>
abc ftw
<acheam>
but I enjoyed using it when I needed to transcribe some stuff
<testuser[m]>
Wtf
<testuser[m]>
How do u even maintain so much code
<acheam>
hmm idk how I feel about the abc syntax
<acheam>
I like how lilypond is sort of like latex
<acheam>
testuser[m]: maintained may be an overstatement.... I think its just continually grown over its 30 years of existence
<phoebos>
pretty much just write the notes with modifiers for note length, ties, etc and there are various tools to compile it into sheet music or midi files
<phoebos>
eg. a-g is one octave, A-G is one up, A2 is a double length A, z is a rest
<noocsharp>
it seems like abc is to roff as lilypond is to tex
<phoebos>
^
<phoebos>
hehe yeah
<phoebos>
been trying neatroff recently
<noocsharp>
i used neatroff for some papers this year
<phoebos>
i think there's an error in the neatroff_make Makefile install target
<phoebos>
which causes pdf fonts to be borked
ejjdhfjsu has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<noocsharp>
i just run it from the directory itself
<noocsharp>
using one of those example makefiles
<phoebos>
that seems to be the recommended method, i was surprised that someone hadn't noticed it before
<phoebos>
what macros do you use
<phoebos>
if any
<noocsharp>
just the default ones
<noocsharp>
i think?
<noocsharp>
does a pretty good job at settings basic text
<noocsharp>
but i'm using lilypond for some pretty convoluted stuff that probably wouldn't be possible with abc
<phoebos>
quite possibly
<acheam>
are we gonna get more Sound of Nihal's?
<phoebos>
noocsharp: did you get around to setting up xmpp?
<noocsharp>
kind of, i tried to send you a message but it seems like it didn't go through, so i have some diagnosing to do
<noocsharp>
acheam: i have so many half baked ideas but nothing complete
<acheam>
heh our project pages are very similar
<noocsharp>
i took inspiration from yours
<phoebos>
hehe they are very similar
<acheam>
:)
<testuser[m]>
noocsharp: ur server died after transmitting 14mb of a file
<phoebos>
i added some options to stagit_index to include html before/after the repo list, been meaning to write more there

<acheam>
theres something weird with the metadata by the way
<noocsharp>
i need to get better at balancing
<acheam>
the title in the flac file of november.flac is "October"
<noocsharp>
lol oops
<acheam>
damn 0:49 hits hard
<acheam>
what software do you use for this?
<noocsharp>
ardour
<noocsharp>
but now i've switched to qtractor
<noocsharp>
ardour crashed far too often
<acheam>
nide
<acheam>
