<testuser[m]> dilyn: commits take ages before landing in a release
<testuser[m]> Just apply that urself
<dilyn> yes that commit is new to specifically this release :v
<dilyn> wasn't present in the previous version we had in repo
<testuser[m]> Hmm
<testuser[m]> I'll check in few hrs
<dilyn> reverting probably wouldn't work at all considering they also simultaneously restructured the entire UI section
<dilyn> so a lot of it got refactored and moved around -- lot of commits reverted and relanded in the last two months on ui/
<testuser[m]> It's so that they can eventually add a qt backend
<dilyn> indeed
<dilyn> which is baffling to me
<dilyn> don't do that
<testuser[m]> rohan: wdym
<testuser[m]> I didn't bump for 98.0.2 i bumped to rebuild after ffmpeg update
<testuser[m]> 99 is coming in 3 days so I'll update then
<testuser[m]> dilyn: what's wrong with a qt file picker
<dilyn> because I'd have to install Qt
<dilyn> I mean nothing is inherently wrong with their decision
<dilyn> in fact I like it
<dilyn> it's just inconvenient for what I'm trying to do here
<testuser[m]> Bruh
<testuser[m]> Wtf do u even have installed lol no gui toolkit
<dilyn> correct
<dilyn> 76 packages
<dilyn> most of the packages i'm maintaining are just for chromium
<dilyn> honestly I should just get rid of my web browser my system would be way simpler
<testuser[m]> What would it even be useful for then
<dilyn> no cap; this computer only exists to facilitate rebuilding the packages i use to build this rootfs faster
<dilyn> i use qemu for work
<testuser[m]> Bruh
<dilyn> bruh indeed
<dilyn> honestly
<dilyn> I have no use for a computer
<dilyn> the only reason I am here is for *y'all*
<testuser[m]> 🥺
<dilyn> can't see that
<dilyn> my font only displays english unicode codepoints lad :v :v :v
<dilyn> lmfao
<dilyn> i'm telling you
<dilyn> I only started using KISS because it sounded interesting
<dilyn> all of my involvement is an accident. I hate computers XD

<testuser[m]> midfavila: hi
<midfavila> hello, testuser[m]
<midfavila> how's your day/afternoon/evening/night/$TIME going?
<testuser[m]> Fine
<testuser[m]> if BUILDFLAG(IS_LINUX) && !BUILDFLAG(IS_CHROMECAST)
<testuser[m]> dilyn: just changed this to if 0
<testuser[m]> They didn't copy this logic properly
<testuser[m]> or maybe there isn't a define for USE_GTK or something
<dilyn> for what I've seen, there isn't
<dilyn> so I think they accidentally messed up their guards when they made this transition to prepare for qt

<testuser[m]> Yeah I know they have an app but your thing won't show up in the app for about a day so you need to go to their website on mobile to see it. Right, you're on the mobile website and I know your thing is still not showing up now. To see it, go to the hamburger menu in the top right. Yeah I know it doesn't look like a menu, or a hamburger. The three lines, that's a menu. Now go "account -> profile". Now you see the text where it says
<testuser[m]> "XXX"? That's actually a tab. I know it doesn't look like a tab, just a word. You can't see any of the other tabs because they are actually off the right-hand side of the screen. I know it doesn't look like you can scroll, but just drag it across and you'll see the other tabs. Ok now click on the tab marked "YYY"

<illiliti> testuser[m]: does vaapi work in chromium or i'm wasting my time trying to make it work?
<illiliti> Hardware decoder = false no matter what i tried
<testuser[m]> illiliti: they dont care about lunix it keeps breaking on every other update
<testuser[m]> U did --features=vaapi something right?
<illiliti> yep
<testuser[m]> VA-API does not work with the chromium package when using the native Wayland backend, but it does work in chromium-wayland-vaapiAUR.
<testuser[m]> What
<testuser[m]> I'll rebuild with this tomorrow and send
<testuser[m]> Nvm it doesn't work anymore
<testuser[m]> illiliti: try the flags in top comment
<testuser[m]> Almost the same thing
<illiliti> no difference

<testuser[m]> That author's on some cronic
<dilyn> > (Please note: unexpected results caused by bugs are not a valid substitute for high-quality random number generators, though high-quality random number generators are generally not considered to be bugs.)
<dilyn> Holy fuck this is genius
<testuser[m]> Anyway... this is an irrelevant fact, if your use case requires you to care about performance that much then you shouldn't be using Go in the first place.
<testuser[m]> Linux users probably skew more ethical than the average Mac user. Otherwise, Apple wouldn't make so much money locking down future generations freedoms.
