<sad_plan>
how exacly do I get the usbs to show up with libudev-zero? since the switch, I havent really been able to mount my usb sticks. they show up in lsusb, and in dmesg. but I cant mount them, because it seems they arent registrered in /dev or something

sad_plan: libudev-zero has nothing to do with usbs. something wrong with your kernel or device manager
<illiliti>
i wonder what Drew thinks about rust's crates and cargo

So, the reason why I came into this channel is evolving into rebuilding rust with sanitizer support, to try and build firefox with asan
<bujeddhazeus>
Fun right?
<bujeddhazeus>
(Speaking of rust -_-)
<bujeddhazeus>
Hey, at least I'm learning new tricks!
<dilyn>
that sounds traumatizing
<bujeddhazeus>
I like it trademark™️
<bujeddhazeus>
Oops meant to remove the word trademark....
<bujeddhazeus>
Fail
<bujeddhazeus>
You know what I mean
<bujeddhazeus>
What's more traumatizing is having a patch that apparently works fine on kisslinux but somehow segfaults on gentoo
<bujeddhazeus>
And being too inexperienced to know how to fix it
<bujeddhazeus>
Therefore, I am trying to learn
<bujeddhazeus>
Hey look at that: no rust compile errors
<bujeddhazeus>
I got lucky?

yo guys
<akira01>
anyone get problems with alsa?
<akira01>
i just made a new instalm of kiss and get problems
<akira01>
used same .config
<akira01>
the problem is
<akira01>
i have no card lol
<akira01>
aplay just show nothing and alsamixer cant open
<soliwilos>
akira01: Works here.
<akira01>
maybe is something in my kernel config
<soliwilos>
That or possibly your device manager.
<natris1979[m]>
My kiss vm has no sound but I'm using hyper-v and hyper-v's linux sound support seems pretty weak so I'm my case I think it's just that
<akira01>
soliwilos: what device manager you use?
<soliwilos>
akira01: mdevd
<akira01>
will trt
<akira01>
try
<akira01>
i just tried mdev
<akira01>
maybe thats why
<soliwilos>
My mdev.conf file has a "snd/.* root:audio 660" entry in it, if that helps.
<akira01>
yeah mdevd just for itself cant handle
<soliwilos>
Then as long as your kernel has the drivers you need for sound, it should just work.
<soliwilos>
I'd check dmesg for signs of audio.
<soliwilos>
Make sure your user is in the audio group as well.
