<Darius>
I am trying to use the i2c-initiator applet to talk to an AD5175 but when I do a scan it finds something at every address. Swapping SDA/SCL just makes it block (waiting for SCL I imagine?)
<Darius>
If I connect the same device to an Arduino Uno I can talk to it fine
<whitequark[cis]>
do you have pulls enabled
<Darius>
no, I have pull ups on the breadboard
<whitequark[cis]>
no idea
<Darius>
basically I am jumpering over the arduino or glagow depending on which I want to try

Thought: add a method to the applet class that returns if pulls should default to on or off. Keeps all the hard bits of handling the pulls in one place, but gives applets the ability to decide what the default should be.
<Darius>
hmm tried feeding it to sigrok but got garbage
<whitequark[cis]>
<theorbtwo[m]> "Thought: add a method to the..." <- um, applets can already decide it
<whitequark[cis]>
the --pulls argument is added by individual applets
<Darius>
hmm doesn't appear to touch SDA (tried port A & B on the glasgow)
<whitequark[cis]>
what exactly is happening?
<whitequark[cis]>
it sounds like SDA is shorted to ground in your case
<whitequark[cis]>
that would also make it block if you swap SDA/SCL since the applet supports clock stretching properly

Ok, another Glasgow shipment went out today. Bit smaller than usual because this concludes the "Glasgow Crowd Supply Campaign". Now "only" post-campaign pre-orders remain! 🎉 😄
<jn>
nice milestone!
<nemanjan00[m]>
How much smaller? 😃
<esden[m]>
117 units
<esden[m]>
(says on the boxes :P)

[glasgow] github-merge-queue[bot] created branch gh-readonly-queue/main/pr-584-5e5a930e4b20f8a4916ae7705cc7d5a6ad007aa4 - https://github.com/GlasgowEmbedded/glasgow
<esden[m]>
I have updated the data on the lookup page.
<nemanjan00[m]>
Insomnia browsing... I need to go to somewhere less hot
<nemanjan00[m]>
I finally got my case, so I guess I should stop asking for updates 🤣 I have one unit with case, now I can carry it in toolbox 😃
<esden[m]>
I am so glad we managed to convince our landlord to install AC in our house 5 years ago... it keeps paying productivity dividends...
<esden[m]>
nemanjan00 (@_discord_268952761595461632:catircservices.org) heh... you are welcome to ask about updates. No worries. It is nice to see people are interested. 😄
<esden[m]>
I am just being cheeky 😄
<nemanjan00[m]>
Anyone posted any cool ways to carry glasgow and cables together? 😃
<jn>
nemanjan00[m]: i haven't posted it, but for a while i had my glasgow set (glasgow with alu case, plus cables) in a semi-transparent cosmetics bag
<esden[m]>
I have not seen that yet. It would be nice to have a leather pouch. Or a 3D printed box. But a small harddrive case is probably a decent solution too. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5CKWBA/
<esden[m]>
I used those a lot to carry my electronics travel kits.
