okay, so ... installing foot 1.14.0-2 of Debian, using the font=monospace:size=6 spec, that gave a font size too small for 1.15.1-1 of Debian, gives a larger font size -- this explains that the old config file setup was correct, but does not explain why the file was recreated w/ a later timestamp about 1hr after install.

also, I see changes about font-sizes for fractional scaling, but nothing that explains why I needed size=6 for 1.14.0 (which seems incorrect compared to the matching "10" used for Sway; 1.15.1 now matches at size=10); so perhaps this was a bug that was fixed w/ the fractional scaling fixes?

Also! I just reinstalled v1.15.1-1 and the ~/.config/foot/foot.ini file was re-birthed again.

sewn: you'll have to use monitor scaling. We already support two scaling modes: dpi-aware, and output scaling. It's complicated enough to have them co-exist, and I rather not add yet a variant
