hello!
<anarcat>
is there a way to search in the scrollback history?
<Lord>
yes with Ctrl Shift R
<anarcat>
okay cool
<anarcat>
also, it looks like i need to install foot-terminfo everywhere now :p
<anarcat>
what version of ncurses has the good stuff again?
<jmcantrell>
dnkl: what linux distribution do you use?
<dnkl>
anarcat: don't remember, but it's documented in the wiki
<dnkl>
jmcantrell: artix
<anarcat>
i found it, nevermind :)
<anarcat>
thanks dnkl
<anarcat>
really great stuff you have there... i am trying to switch to sway and a lot of things don't work as i'd hope (firefox screen sharing and rofi are the main blockers rn), but foot checks all the boxes, pretty incredible stuff
<dnkl>
anarcat: thanks :D
<dnkl>
if you're struggling with rofi, you could perhaps give fuzzel a try 🙊

lol
<anarcat>
now i wonder who wrote that :p
<anarcat>
so there's already two other things like fuzzel, packaged in debian: tofi and wofi
<anarcat>
neither of those supports the "modi" system that i use extensively in rofi
<anarcat>
that's my big blocker right now... if i ditch that, then i can already use tofi or wofi or fuzzel, it's all the same then
<anarcat>
the other blocker with rofi is that i have a modi that uses xdotool to type the password instead of going through the clipboard
<anarcat>
because i feel the clipboard is less secure, as (web)apps can sniff it
<anarcat>
but obviously that doesn'T work in wayland, so i need to figure out what's the best way forward here
<anarcat>
the exception is that rofi fork, but that's not packaged in debian either and, in fact, even the basic rofi package is not super well maintained, a couple of versions behind

anarcat: web pages and browser extensions can't read the clipboard without permission no?
<alexherbo2>
there is wl-ime-type from emersion you can use
<alexherbo2>
maybe wl-ime-type can directly type what received from stdin
<alexherbo2>
you can also consider using foot itself as a drop-in replacement of dmenu
alexherbo2 has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<anarcat>
well i guess that yes, web sites might need permissions, but other apps probably don't, and that makes me iffy

hmm... it looks like foot doesn't interpret the escape sequences irssi is sending... my bash prompt manages to set the title, but not irssi... has anyone else seen something like this?
<dnkl>
anarcat: more likely that irssi isn't sending them at all... maybe try with TERM=xterm-256color?
<anarcat>
oh right, maybe it doesn't think this is the right term
<anarcat>
now that you mention it, that server probably doesn't even have the right termcap

ha! that worked, nice
<anarcat>
thank god for that foot-terminfo package
<anarcat>
not that it matters anyways, because it looks like sway and py3status don't like each other and the latter doesn't show window titles
<anarcat>
