<davidlt[m]> Morning
<davidlt[m]> Advanced Interrupt Architecture (AIA)
<davidlt[m]> Vector IEEE FP16 Min Support, Arithmetic
<davidlt[m]> Ratified as of June 29, 2023. See: https://wiki.riscv.org/display/HOME/Specification+Status
<davidlt[m]> IOMMU

<rwmjones> oh b-----
<rwmjones> me--
<rwmjones> I managed to break the NVMe connector on my VF2
<davidlt[m]> How?
<rwmjones> well it started with the lack of a screw to hold down the NVMe drive
<rwmjones> so I was using electrical tape
<rwmjones> but then I found a compatible screw and managed to break it while removing the tape
<rwmjones> I think it might be possible to rescue the situation as its only the plastic shroud which is cracked
<rwmjones> I think the electrical connections are OK, will see
<rwmjones> biab
<davidlt[m]> Oh no, yet again, a new kf5 release.
<davidlt[m]> If not for the slow riscv64 hardware I would be happy :)
<rwmjones> what's kf5?
<davidlt[m]> KDE Framework
<rwmjones> oh I see
<rwmjones> I thought it was a new board :-)
<davidlt[m]> Every time I want to make a new disk image there happens to be a new KF5 release.
<davidlt[m]> And then new K* packages, etc.
<davidlt[m]> It takes a few days to get those built!
<davidlt[m]> Did anyone look at Zfa extension?
<davidlt[m]> So it seems P600-series is 4-wide OoO, 128-bit vector, vector crypto, hypevisor, IOMMU, AIA, WorldGuard, RVA22.
<rwmjones> davidlt[m]: what's the default disk image username / password again?
<davidlt[m]> riscv:fedora_rocks!
<rwmjones> got it thanks!
<davidlt[m]> riscv is in wheel group
<rwmjones> I just reinstalled my VF2
<rwmjones> uli was asking me how to do it yesterday so I thought I'd write some instructions
<rwmjones> will CC you on them
<rwmjones> obviously horrible because it's the "debian" boot path & kernel + fedora userspace
<davidlt[m]> Sure, there are still a few blockers for a proper support for it.
<rwmjones> yeah, understood
<davidlt[m]> Seems it might be 6.6 kernel.
<davidlt[m]> It's too late for 6.5.
<davidlt[m]> It seems we will be "stuck" with JH7110 and TH1520 until 2024.
<davidlt[m]> TH1520 support landed in 6.5 IIRC. Just basics.
<davidlt[m]> That's very fast considering there is no vendor support (IP or SoC).
<davidlt[m]> Well, actually it's a single vendor for IP and the SoC. TH1520 is literally T-HEAD (I assume).
<davidlt[m]> dtometzki: would it possible to attach NVMe over USA-A to the Sipeed board, and get SSH access for me to attempt some builds?
<dtometzki> You mean USB?
<davidlt[m]> Preferably NVMe attached over USA-A. That's best storage option (bandwidth, and IOPS wise).
<dtometzki> NVMe is clear but what is USA-A
<davidlt[m]> Ops, USB-A :)
<davidlt[m]> Something that supports UASP and TRIM would be the best.
<dtometzki> I have to check if i have an additional nvme to attach in my box :-)
<dtometzki> That should be possible let me check this
<davidlt[m]> Not required, but life is easier with faster IOPS capable drive.

<conchuod> davidlt[m]: If people submit super basic stuff, I'm happy to take it. If people wanna submit something bigger, I'm happy to do it that way too :)
<conchuod> davidlt[m]: Emil convinced me to fill out the form, we shall see if RVI gives me one.
<davidlt[m]> Where is that form?
<davidlt[m]> I filled a form once, took 1-2 years to receive it :)
<conchuod> > Pioneer Box from Milk-V
<davidlt[m]> Oh, why not. Let's apply.
<davidlt[m]> It's just providing monthly updates doesn't really work.
<davidlt[m]> Because it's just Koji build log :)
<conchuod> Yeah, I don't really bother for the unmatched I got. It doesn't fit the model of "wait for patches, use the board to make sure nothing breaks"
<davidlt[m]> Yeah, I don't need to send those updates too.
<davidlt[m]> Nah, "clear form".
<conchuod> I got the board cos I asked Mark for it, I didn't apply for it IIRC, I just get the email because of the group membership iirc
<conchuod> iirc^2

<davidlt[m]> I did apply, but I was contacted like <2 years after that :)
<davidlt[m]> I probably know who to ping at RVI to ask about it.
<davidlt[m]> The deadline is July 31st, I they got 50 of those IIRC.
<davidlt[m]> I wonder if those are V1.1 or something that they have now.
<conchuod> I don't have relationships with anyone at RVI, I just met Mark at Plumbers.
<davidlt[m]> oh no, there is a new qt5 version too!
<davidlt[m]> [GIT PULL] RISC-V Patches for the 6.5 Merge Window, Part 1 !
zsun has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
<palmer> davidlt[m]: sorry, did I screw something up?
<davidlt[m]> No, just copy & pasting for folks that don't follow mailing list.
<palmer> ah, cool
<davidlt[m]> It's also a news channel 😉
<palmer> there's some more stuff, this week was just kind of chaos at work so I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped ;)
