<rwmjones|HOL> nice!
<davidlt[m]> Yeah, but remember that it might take unknown amount of time before things become mass available.
<davidlt[m]> This doesn't really tell any details. This could be: chips arrived from the fab, attached to a bring up board and initial Linux environment booted. It could also be anything else.
<davidlt[m]> I guess the chip booted, that's the message (?)
<rwmjones|HOL> the noto fonts in Fedra 36 look awful
<davidlt[m]> Did Fedora change font?
<davidlt[m]> Well, I don't use gnome-terminal (or newer console)
<rwmjones|HOL> this affects just about everything because they changed the default for things like fc-match "Monospace"
<rwmjones|HOL> the noto fonts are plain ugly and unreadable, I don't know how anyone thought this was a good idea
<davidlt[m]> This reports me a different font
<davidlt[m]> For me this is: VeraMono.ttf: "Bitstream Vera Sans Mono" "Regular"
<davidlt[m]> Note that my system has multiple years of upgrades without a clean install.
<davidlt[m]> It's different from what I would get with a clean Fedora install these days.
<davidlt[m]> For the terminal I use tilix (which allows to configure profiles and pick fonts).
<davidlt[m]> But tilix is dead. I am thinking of moving to kitty or alacritty.
<davidlt[m]> Kinda explore the grounds :)
<davidlt[m]> Also printing an image on a console is kinda nice (not that I use that).
<rwmjones|HOL> I think most terminals can do that now?
<davidlt[m]> Not really IIRC.
<davidlt[m]> So I wanted to try these GPU accel. terminals. I will probably use one of them once tilix is removed from Fedora in general.
<davidlt[m]> But they are also very fast. It's like things happen instantly.
<davidlt[m]> Kitty has more features for sure. Alacritty is trying to be more minimal, lacks some features too.
<davidlt[m]> So with Alacritty (Rust IIRC) you have to use tmux or something.
<davidlt[m]> Note that Alacritty has significantly more traction on GitHub compared to Kitty these days.
