<brian|lfs> daftaupe, do you see an iso for 3.7.1 or 3.8 anywhere?
<jaeger> Neither exists, 3.7 is still current

<SiFuh> :-)
<brian|lfs> I think you all should adopt Emmett's extensions for making ports
<brian|lfs> it saves a lot of pain and makes things much cleaner
<SiFuh> brian|lfs: He does some good work. He and I worked on the MUSl version of CRUX.
<brian|lfs> ya he mentioned that to me also
<brian|lfs> so whats so special about MUS1
<SiFuh> Nothing. ukky wanted a version of CRUX and I remember remiliascarlet talking about it so. So he prepared the first stage that helped us.
<SiFuh> ukky: Has one that has a very small footprint.

<daftaupe> is it recommended to stay on the kernel branch 5.15 when using crux 3.7 ?
<ukky> daftaupe: no
<daftaupe> thanks ukky
<ukky> We build native glibc with API headers from kernel 5.15, but this has nothing to do with boot kernel, use whatever version you prefer
<brian|lfs> hopefully 1.12.1 fixes issues building qtwebengine 6.7.0 trying it now
<brian|lfs> daftaupe, oddly my threadripper machine can't boot with the 5.15 kernel but it seems to work on the kernel if I build a kernel that old so go figure
<daftaupe> I tried the latest in 5.15 branch and now I only get a black screen at boot, not my decrypt disk prompt
<brian|lfs> black screen you forgot framebuffer
<daftaupe> hmm I reuse the same .config file I had for my 5.15.55 kernel (except for the few new settings I had to answer), or you mean somewhere else ?
