why are thunderbird and firefox provided as binaries ? no maintainer ? too much compilation time due to rust ?
<ppetrov^>
daftaupe, you have firefox in contrib
<daftaupe>
ppetrov^ sure but as I understood it contrib is some sort of community repo, not "official" ports thus my question
<daftaupe>
also a newbie question, but should package be built in a chroot or something ? so that I'm sure my footprints are the same as what the commiter had when he built his port ?
<cruxbridge>
<tim> daftaupe: if your goal is to install packages you certainly don't need to build them in a chroot. I advise you to set PKGMK_IGNORE_NEW="yes" in pkgmk.conf and runscripts yes in prt-get.conf

interesting, but not sure what is the difference between that setting and PKGMK_IGNORE_FOOTPRINT=’yes'
<cruxbridge>
<tim> PKGMK_IGNORE_FOOTPRINT will ignore the entire footprint, PKGMK_IGNORE_NEW will only ignore mismatches with "NEW" files. Most times, when something is missing, it indicates other problems

aah I see
