SiFuh, you going to truck trips in the jungle?
<SiFuh>
ppetrov^: Yes, usually every few weeks and camp the night out there
<ppetrov^>
now I see why you'd need such a truck
<SiFuh>
There are around 26 vehicles in the team. But as you can see some can join sometimes and others are too busy.
<SiFuh>
The one before last we had to Land Cruisers, a Pajero and a Land Rover. We all tease the Pajero
<SiFuh>
to/two
<ppetrov^>
why?
<SiFuh>
Because it is not modified and keeps falling apart.
<SiFuh>
Actually the story about the Pajero is that it doesn't belong to any of us. It was brought to the mechanic for a service over 10 years ago. The owner never came to pick it up. They called him and asked him if he still wants it because they will buy it from him if he does not. He won't sell it. But he also won't come and collect it.
<SiFuh>
So it isn't even registered anymore. Anyway, they take it jungle with us. Everytime I they smash it up then repair it and take it out again. If the owner eventually does come and collect it he will be suprised at the mileage ;-)
<ppetrov^>
interesting situation
<SiFuh>
Yeah, not sure why he won't collect it. Not sure why he won't sell it either.
<ppetrov^>
they are not worried the police may stop them and they get into trouble for driving a vehicle without papers?
<SiFuh>
But you can't just leave a car sitting around. It will deteriorate
<SiFuh>
ppetrov^: Nope, because they are in the middle of the convoy and police, Department of Transport don't usually stop convoys
<SiFuh>
They just wave us through.
<ppetrov^>
:)
<SiFuh>
Besides the vehicles are heavily modifed. They would spend all day writing up tickets and have a lot of paperwork to do.
<ppetrov^>
heh..
<SiFuh>
I've got mud tyres so I can't really drive faster than 80 KPH so I tend to avoid motorways but sometimes I need to jump on one for a short distance. In general I take only the back roads. Don't care if it takes me an extra 30 minutes to get somewhere. I am never in a hurry
<ppetrov^>
these are not legal in many countries, however Scandinavians use them a lot
<SiFuh>
1:56
<ppetrov^>
yep, past that
<SiFuh>
heh
<SiFuh>
In my video with the exception of the Land Cruiser I was winching out of the mud. Pretty much every vehicle I had to winch was a KIA Sportage. They buy them super cheap here and then heavily modify them
<ppetrov^>
it's good to have a hobby...
<SiFuh>
About 6000 to 8000 MYR for a second-hand KIA Sportage. While an _old_ Land Cruiser like mine is usually around 40,000 to 80,000 depending on age and condition
<SiFuh>
ppetrov^: I like the camping, it gets me out of the house
<SiFuh>
Had to buy a tent for the wife. I am not really a tent guy. :-P
<ppetrov^>
how would you sleep ourdoors then?
<SiFuh>
Trees if mosquitoes or in jungle, ground if anywhere else
<SiFuh>
I can sleep sitting up as well.
<SiFuh>
If I have a vehicle, I just sleep in the passenger seat.
<SiFuh>
And we also have hammocks just in case.

sounds fun
<SiFuh>
Not for the wife. She looks like she actually has small pox. She got hammered by mosquitoes but the bite marks changed. The nurse thought she had chicken pox. Doctor said it is an allergic reaction. She has it even to this day still. Maybe 7 or 8 weeks now?
<SiFuh>
I am kind of lucky, mosquitoes only bite me if I am alone. If there are other people around they don't touch me. I tell everyone they know they can't fly after drinking my blood (Alcohol).
<SiFuh>
Wife get's the nickname 'Mosquito Bait' when we go jungle
<ppetrov^>
heh
<ppetrov^>
i am allergic to mosquito bites, so i understand her
<SiFuh>
Mira from Kyrgyzstan got attacked my Mosquitoes in Malaysia. I told her do not scratch at all. She actually listened to me. After a month she no longer had an allergic reaction. When we moved to Thailand she got attacked by the mosquitoes then and was allergic again. After a month she was fine again. It is like new species thaat she wasn't immune to yet.
<ppetrov^>
yes
<SiFuh>
The wife I told her not to scratch and her friends and colleagues and parents all said the same. She ignored all of us and scratched the hell out of herself. She will probably be scarred for life
<ppetrov^>
i have no such problems with bulgarian mosquitoes... finnish ones are different
<SiFuh>
Asians have thicker skin so their scars can tand out more.
<SiFuh>
tand/stand
<SiFuh>
My keyboard batteries must be going flat
