<r0ni> jaeger: thank you for testing it out! i'll look into those issues, i need to backup some things before a fresh start, but i'll look at those ports as well and check out that plugin (it seemed to work for me)

<jaeger> No problem. Maybe I'm missing a dep or something
<jaeger> It didn't give me a particularly useful error, just along the lines of "plugin has crashed"

<ppetrov^> well, I "fixed" my qt6-webengine, by compiling only the stuff I need (for Calibre): QtPdfWidgets and co. Maybe that's better, since it takes less time to build, compared to the whole package
<ppetrov^> will make a separate port just for this
<r0ni> jaeger I've fixed all the dep issues in the repo and updated xfce4-session port as well. as for the power-manager, i didn't pass '--enable-polkit' to it so this could be the issue if it isn't auto-detected during build. I'll need to look into that a bit more yet. i've also added 'polkit-gnome' and 'pinentry-gtk' which expands the existing 'pinentry' package by adding the gtk dialog and fixing the script in /usr/bin (which was wrong) so things like gparted ask
<r0ni> for root pw when started
<r0ni> i should say I fixed those dep issues, there could be more lol

<ppetrov^> hi r0ni, talking about dependencies and Xfce... I mainatain ports for an old release (last GTK2), so you might find something useful there
<ppetrov^> this is not on portdb
<r0ni> i did look thru a while ago, but that was before i started work... i should check it again
<r0ni> i did see a port of elogind you have up that piqued my interest
<ppetrov^> i even made a port for a panel plugin that let's you use gnome2 panel plugins
<ppetrov^> the libelogind is only for wps-office, because changing themes does not work otherwise
<ppetrov^> and it is kinda problematic, because some programs try to link against the library, so I will probably install in a custom location
<ppetrov^> ironically, changing wps themes doe not work in Slackware, although it comes with proper elogind
<r0ni> i was thinking about doing gnome for crux to punish myself, but i need elogind for that
<r0ni> may just skip that one
<ppetrov^> jeez man
<ppetrov^> i was thinking to do Trinity KDE for CRUX, because maintaining an ancient Xfce won't last much longer
<r0ni> was actually thinking how much easier it'd be with dep resolution on crux lol
<ppetrov^> i think if you maintain the newest Xfce that'd be a great addition to the ports db
<r0ni> theres a odd one called regolith i've been thinking about... it's a sway/gnome desktop
<r0ni> i still have to do the nwg-shell since i set out to do xfce to get closer to that one
<r0ni> (i need apps from xfce for it)
<r0ni> honestly, once i add a few more plugins and apps xfce is complete
<ppetrov^> r0ni, maybe CRUX will include elogin in opt or at least contrib upon next release
<r0ni> tbh i kinda like that it isn't here
<ppetrov^> if you happen for find a decent, oldschool looking gtk3 theme, please let me know
<r0ni> i want to re-do gvfs to make all the extra filesystem support optional but i need to wait on that since i'll be jammed busy for next few weeks
<r0ni> only gtk3 theme i put up is greybird, which looks old school to me heh
<ppetrov^> heh
<r0ni> how much issues will i cause editing the REPO file manually? i notice it puts stuff in a odd order, does it matter?
<ppetrov^> what studd is put in odd order?
<ppetrov^> *stuff
<r0ni> dirs listing not alphabetical, it seems just random
<r0ni> maybe by mod or date?
<ppetrov^> weird, i have is alphabetically
<ppetrov^> wait, no I do not
<ppetrov^> does it matter, really? Never bothered me until now
<r0ni> i dunno i'm about to find out lol
<r0ni> edited on Mac serving it up now to see

<r0ni> jaeger it's all good, take your time
<SiFuh> r0ni: I think it is a time for a party.
<r0ni> heh wish i had time for a nice party. i could go for a nice doom lan party lol
<SiFuh> No DFI Lan Party?
<r0ni> not sure what DFI is to be honest lol
<SiFuh> Use to make gaming motherboards
<SiFuh> Shame because i use to use the their boards for servers
<r0ni> ahh so that must be the company google told me it was lol
<r0ni> they appear to still make boards
<SiFuh> But their lan party is over
<r0ni> heh tis a shame
<ppetrov^> what happens to the ports 'marked unmaintained'? They will be dropped eventually?
<SiFuh> Gone forever except those who trawl for old outdated extired ports in the dust bin of the repo hisotries
<SiFuh> expired*
<cruxbot> [contrib.git/3.7]: lensfun: 0.3.3 -> 0.3.4
<cruxbot> [contrib.git/3.7]: weechat: 4.0.1 -> 4.0.2
<ppetrov^> so, gparted will be dropped
<SiFuh> Probably, all the good useful tools are being dumped and all the boring crap is not
<cruxbot> [contrib.git/3.7]: wireshark: 4.0.6 -> 4.0.7
<r0ni> is gparted gone already? i'll add it to a repo if need be. i happen to like that prog
<r0ni> tho 1.5.0 wouldn't build
<r0ni> anyway, i'm afk for the next many hrs, later
<ppetrov^> SiFuh, very funny
<SiFuh> :-P
