<elderK> I was just wondering if the sticky bit is necessary. I guess we'll find out :)

<stenur> SiFuh: no, i have not; but from what i read i may have seen something similar (~30 minute or so american thing), it focused very much on his bravety in WWI, and on the tough father of him. I must admit .. i am not interested in Hitler. He sees many things false (if i get them more right), but he always said from himself he is "only a drummer", so i think he knew that. Of course i respect his bravety on the
<stenur> front line, because every man has to. Maybe i would shit in my trousers, i do not know. But that is effectively it, beside that he is just a terrible mind.
<stenur> He now lives in Moscow mind you, in a safe, in a cupboard with many many drawers, and he is only taken out in the presence of two strong and armed Russian soldiers.
<stenur> One could say he is somehow back in the boarding house for men he once used to live in.
<cruxbot> [opt.git/3.6]: rust: 1.56.0 -> 1.56.1
<SiFuh> stenur: From the bad he 'allegedly', for the 'alledged' reason and for the good he 'allegedly' did. I find it a very interesting subject
<SiFuh> Unfortunately we are not allowed to question or even try to learn from the past. We must obey a system that makes rules and laws that are in place only for 'us'

<crash_> I hate hp laptops, i got a freebie laptop from a friend, hp x360 11 G1. But grub can`t be installed only windows boot loader it seems. It complains on every distro when grub is gonna be installed.
<groovy2shoes> sounds like "Secure Boot"
<crash_> i have disabled secure boot on it
<groovy2shoes> well then i'm out of ideas :/
<crash_> :(
<braewoods> crash_: define "complains"
<groovy2shoes> i had an hp laptop some 12 years ago, and even the hardware was b0rked. customer support was awful. swore them off after that ¬_¬
<braewoods> it's a chromebook?
<crash_> I have read that thread
<crash_> nope it`s a windows laptop
<braewoods> ok, similar model for hp chromebooks
<crash_> Braewood: when grub is installing it only saya fatal error
<crash_> saying
<braewoods> oh this. i remember this. there was a hardware issue that rendered grub unbootable.
<braewoods> it would just hang.
<braewoods> newer grub fixed it
<crash_> I have tried crux and fedora 34 and 35 should definitly has the latest grub. sadly is saying fatal error still
<groovy2shoes> have you tried somethinglike rEFInd on there?
<braewoods> crash_: without knowing more about the actual error
<braewoods> can't really help you
<braewoods> but i would suggest updating the BIOS before going further
<braewoods> if the current BIOS is really out of date
<crash_> baewoods: yeah my machine had a old bios and i updated it to newest from 2020, and the grub message only says could`t install grub bootloader: fatal error. System might not boot correctly. That`s it
<braewoods> crash_: 2020? there's one from july 2021
<crash_> or 2021 i grabbed the latest from hp :)
<braewoods> that still doesn't tell me anything, error wise
<braewoods> you did a manual install of grub for crux?
<crash_> Yes i did a manual install of grub on crux and auto when i tried fedora to see if that worked.
<braewoods> so what was the actual error you got from crux?
<crash_> Oh i see, i don`t remeber the error from crux. I will try a reinstall later on to see if crux tells me more then fedora
<crash_> I went through bios setting and i found sub menu that had microsoft uefi ca signing enable… i think this prevents me from installing any other boot loader that is not signed..
<cruxbot> [xorg.git/3.6]: xorg-xwayland: deleted redundant deps

<elderK> Guys, has something changed regarding freetype? Imagemagick fails to update, apparently because it can't find necessary .la files.
<elderK> I reinstalled freetype and freetype-32. Only freetype-32 has any .la files.
