<crash_> is 3.7 gonna use a older version?
<crash_> of gcc
<braewoods> you don't want to use too bleeding edge of GCC release
<crash_> that is true, but gcc 11 has been out for awhile so that must be a safer choiche then gcc 12?
<braewoods> Oh, in that case, no idea.
<beerman> gcc 12
<beerman> i have no idea where stenur gets the idea other than he can't read git logs
<crash_> ah ok
<braewoods> If in doubt just check the port files.
<braewoods> crash_: https://crux.nu/gitweb/?p=ports/core.git;a=blob;f=gcc/Pkgfile;h=a61f4dc42cf1d5aa9d12db7beee5208df4708890;hb=refs/heads/3.7
<crash_> braewoods: have you tried gcc 12 and it's works fine for you?
<braewoods> No, I don't currently use crux. I mostly just write software for it.
<beerman> all i can say it works flawlessly for me on a few systems
<crash_> i see
<crash_> may i ask why you are not using crux, but you are writing ports for it?
<braewoods> I don't write ports. I write actual software.
<braewoods> I'm a programmer and not just a scripter. I've been working on a pkgutils rewrite.
<crash_> nice :)
<crash_> and how is the rewrite coming for you?
<braewoods> Slow. I've got a backlog of higher priority projects.
