The syslinux mailing list is still active and issues are dealt with. There aren't many.
<braewoods>
Still pretty dead.
<jaeger>
Yeah, not complaining. I use grub everywhere, bios and uefi

maintain it ourselves? isn't that what Patrick Volkerding volunteered to do for lilo? someone on this channel recently pointed to a mailing list where that change was announced.
<beerman>
I don’t need lilo, if people want lilo, they can install that
<beerman>
CRUX users should be able to archive that

Do you know if anyone's running a KDE plasma wayland desktop on crux?
<beerman>
I don’t, but tsaops repository looks like it can do it
<jaeger>
yeah, looks like... will give that a try after 3.7 is ready
<beerman>
So, today? scnr
<jaeger>
Heh, probably not quite... but I should have a test ISO built today. Had some struggles with my build VM but it's happier now
<beerman>
Sweet
<jaeger>
ran into 2 minor issues so far: 1 is that iproute2 links against libtirpc but it wasn't on the ISO, that's easy to fix. The other is that freetype links against harfbuzz but doesn't require it, so if you install freetype from the ISO but not something else that depends on harfbuzz like pango or gtk3, linking issue
<jaeger>
I'd suggest we just add harfbuzz as a dep to freetype
