ball: the only uarts that are kinda special are the PRU UART (which doesn't show up in linux anyway, it's private to PRU) and UART0 (which has the ability to wake the system up from deepsleep)

ball: other than that there's just some pinout restrictions, e.g. uart3 has no pinout for its rxd on the bbb, uart1 rts/cts conflict with the cape i²c bus, and various pins conflict with video output if hdmi is enabled: https://pastebin.com/ENCBhyui

I think the place where I normally buy such things isn't carrying it any more so I thought perhaps it had gone away. Very useful info. regarding the UARTs, too.
