<set_>
or are you just wanting to have it show the desktop?
<set_>
and in another XY or YX?
<set_>
Oh! You just want a rotation...
<set_>
There are some tricks to it. I think in the man pages, look for display manager that is being utilized.

There seems to be a lot of info. online about this subject. xrandr -q should help some!
<intheworks>
forgot to mention, running Qt on top of eglfs.
<set_>
ut oh. I know very little of Qt or eglfs as of now. I am sorry.
<set_>
So, maybe starting a file to boot like a .service file will help?
<set_>
For instance, in the file, boot your Qt application and the file that rotates the screen via the HDMI.
<set_>
I will plug mine in. I will test some ideas.
<set_>
Okay. I am plugged in and testing now. bbl w/ hopefully something more helpful.
<set_>
I need to install a desktop to test out some stuff and then on to other ideas.
<intheworks>
I can rotate within Qt. But it has some strange behaviour that I feel would go away if the display was portrait. I can rotate the terminal, but that doesn't stay rotated when Qt starts.
<set_>
Oh.
<set_>
Okay.
<set_>
So, create a .service file w/ your file present called in the .service file.
<set_>
This way it boots in the rotated way.
<set_>
brb
<intheworks>
rotating the console doesn't seem to affect Qt. Qt is running on top of eglfs and I don't know how to change the orientation there.
<set_>
Aw.
<set_>
So, some source you think needs to be done w/ eglfs?
<intheworks>
Sorry for the noise. It seems like "export QT_QPA_EGLFS_ROTATION=90" is working. It either wasn't working or I couldn't tell before.
<set_>
Nice!
<set_>
intheworks: I may have been on the case for days. Thank you for figuring it out!
<set_>
I was going to just install the dependencies, make an application, and then rotate it. It would have been a while.
<intheworks>
I appreciate the assistance set_
<set_>
Hey! No issue. I am just goofin' around tonight. So, I thought, "What the hello?" I should pitch in!
