<set_> How could I break the Relay Cape?
<set_> I am no longer upset or in an unknowledgeable phase right now. I think I broke my ole Cape, i.e. the Relay Cape.
<set_> When I plug it in to an am335x supported BBGW or BBBW, the Relay Cape renders the board useless. It will not boot!
<set_> Could a mechanical switch create the am335x boards from not booting, e.g. BBBW/BBGW?
<set_> I mean...I can understand the power issue on the BBGW. I do not have a barrel jack on the BBGW.
<set_> But...it worked more than once. It had me fooled.
<set_> I think powering the Switch is needed.
<set_> I broke it. Dang it.
<set_> I take the Cape off the boards, boom. Boot! I put the Relay Cape on, short. So, I think one of the Cape, probably relay1, Relays is busted.
<set_> Off to test!
<set_> I can remove the faulty one (hopefully).
<set_> I think running relay1 w/out a PSU or some form of power created the relay1 on the Relay Cape to attack the BBGW/BBBW.
<set_> Argh.
<set_> For instance, nothing was attached to the relay1. I just ran the source and heard the click.
<set_> Blah.
<set_> Solved, not enough paperwork on the device and my idiot self being me!
<set_> Aw! I am going to make a note to self and in the docs. for people like me who think clicks and onboard LEDs are enough to run this Cape.
<set_> Up. There goes the update. Blah. Now, I cannot get in. My page is not even responding. Hmm.
<set_> GenTooMan: How can we convince the mfg. of the Relay Cape, if indeed this Cape will continue, to make a fool proof approximation on users like me who think relay1 (any relay really) does not need an attachment to handle viewing the LED onboard and the sound of the click?
<set_> For instance, is there a fall back plan for users like me (those of us who break stuff by accident)?
<set_> Like...circuitry.
<set_> ...
<set_> Something that keeps people safe when unknowingly creating issues w/out understandings... I understand that it is 75% fool proof as of now since the issue did not fry the BBBW or BBGW.
<set_> Luckily, is it worth researching?
<set_> These are very strong relays. They can handle many voltages and amps AC/DC.
<set_> I think a breaker would be smart...
<set_> Ladder logic? I think I am learning again!
