<Patel>
I only see three LED's always lit on my BBB Rev C and I can't see the login option in PuTTy
<Patel>
What does that mean
<zmatt>
Patel: sounds like it's getting stuck in the bootloader (u-boot)
<Patel>
What can I do to rectify this issue?
<zmatt>
if there's nothing of importance on the beaglebone I'd suggest simply reflashing it
<Patel>
okay I can reflash it
<zmatt>
(download the "AM3358 Debian 10.3 2020-04-06 4GB eMMC IoT Flasher" image from the Flasher Debian images section of https://beagleboard.org/latest-images , write to sd card (using Balena Etcher is highly recommended), boot the beaglebone from that sd card)
<zmatt>
if it refuses to boot the sd card (may happen if there's a really old, weird, or broken bootloader on eMMC) then try powering on while holding down the S2 button (the one closest to the sd card slot, you can let go of it once the power led turns on), this bypasses the bootloader on eMMC)
<Patel>
Roger that
<Patel>
I did what you asked for
<Patel>
I see the USR0 leds going on and off in a sequential manner.
<Patel>
zmatt still can't see the debian login in PuTTy
<zmatt>
Patel: you mean a back-and-forth pattern across all four leds? that means it's flashing the eMMC
<zmatt>
when complete it will power off
<Patel>
Okay
<zmatt>
(then remove the sd card and power back on)
<Patel>
While I power it on again should I keep the SD card inserted in BBB
<zmatt>
... I just explicitly said to remove the sd card
<zmatt>
if you don't it would immediately begin reflashing eMMC again
